NHRA Certs
I have a question for you guy's running NHRA with a 6.00 or quicker certification.
How long is the certification good for? Is it punched out on the date it was done or the date it expires?

Reason for asking is I have been asked to do tech at the Funny Car Chaos at Alamo Dragway and they accept IHRA or NHRA stickers.

Thanks
Dave

All sportsman certification tags are valid for 3-years from the date of inspection; Pro certification tags are valid for 1-year from the date of inspection.

IHRA has one sticker for Sportsman 7.50 and slower, good for 3 years. Another for Professional 0.00 to 7.50, good for 2 years. It is my understanding that NHRA has more than two and since I will be dealing with Funny Cars and Altereds I imagine they will be faster than 7.50. I have seen NHRA stickers that had 6.00 and then something faster printed on them.

So I guessI need 6.00 and then whatever the faster one is..lol
NHRA just confuses me since I quit racing with them..

Thanks
Dave

If I had a Chaos funny car or a Outlaw fuel altered I would put a 6.0 sticker on it. Thats is good for 3.66 in the 1/8 mile and neither class runs that quick and certainly are not Pros who race the big show.

Talk about confusing. Back in i think 15 or 16, the boys in Glendora. Implemented a wing mounting change for the altereds. Can't be mounted to the top of the cage or something of that nature. Something with certain types of sill plates with a certain length strut.. If i remember correctly. there was a fatal involved with the wing and or the mounting.

Steve i sent you a PM.

Bellemeur has gone high 3.50s but probably won't be there plus the heat. That is a nitro deal so quicker is possible. Depends on who shows up.

My real concern in asking is some build their chassis to meet a specific SFI, which means they will only certify to a specific weight and ET.
That is where the NHRA certification gets sticky as the racer sometimes think it is allowed to have a quicker ET cert.

Fortunately with IHRA I only have to concern myself with it either going 7.50 slower or faster to determine which sticker I put on it, but I still use the appropriate SFI to check it.

I just don't want to tell someone their cert is out when it isn't or let them pass if it is out.
