Shipping price what ????
I ordered a set of pads and rotors for the wife’s Acadia from rock auto since my local go to parts place said they don’t know when we can get the rotors. Four rotors and pads for both axles = less than $150. Shipping by fed ex next day air if received by 10 am is $839.69! WOW I knew prices had gone up but WTF!!! Opted for regular fed ex ground for under $40 and supposed to have parts by Monday night. Oh well rant over just was caught off guard by that. Carry on.

We're living in an episode of the Twilight Zone.

I live on the west coast of Florida, a mile from the Madeira Beach Causeway. The west coast is the approach to Tampa International Airport & MacDill AFB, jets visually navigate down the coast. I haven't heard a Jet airliner in weeks, maybe a month.

Everything that is happening is tied into climate, I think. I think they think, there's a problem for sustainable life on earth, that's why Musk is pouring resources into getting off the planet.

2035 there will be no cars for regular people, only the super rich will have cars, many are saying.

I think, they think there's too many of us polluting their planet. That's what my intuition tells me about all this madness.

I'm not sure we're even going to make it 2035

Maybe a glitch in their pricing system. Or maybe they really don’t want to take the package but for $840 they will!

I just checked shipping for brakes on rock auto. It’s not quite 7am eastern Thursday morning, fastest option is fedex express, says Monday delivery for $141 DHL has Tuesday delivery for $58 and the least expensive is fedex ground at $30, estimated next Friday.

Maybe 6 months ago, I sent a credit card to Cambodia regular shipping and it was $100.+/- via FedEx. I though that was a bit exhorbanant. Certainly wasn't the weight per a set of rotors.

Shipping isn't the only thing. Look up the price of an NGK racing plug on Summit. Shake head

The relative worth of goods and services remain pretty much the same, with considerations for supply and demand. So the real culprit is the worth of the dollar. If you're not concerned about that you're missing the root of the problem.

This is a newspaper article in the St. Petersburg Times from April 25, 1974 the day Tampa was awarded the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Inflation used to be a sign of prosperity. Wages and job growth resulting in an over demand for products and services.

Back then the Fed would raise the interest rates to curtail spending in order to manage inflation.

If the Fed raised interest rates today from 0% where we've been for 10 plus years, to 2%, the stock market would collapse in a matter of hours. The zombie corporations who produce nothing, wouldn't be able to service their debt.

What we're looking at is late stage crony capitalism. Member banks borrow from the Fed at 0% (free money). It's only a matter of time before inflation explodes.

Inflation is the dollar losing its purchasing power.

Keep buying that china garbage, so a few with no allegiance to America can get filthy rich.

That of course would have devastating consequences but only minor in the overall big picture. The real problem would be the government could not service it's debt and the dollar would collapse. Now you've got a real problem. We all know (well some of us) the system is rigged and beyond redemption. The correction will be bitter.

Common sense should tell you that price disparity is not gonna last.

It's only a matter of time Rock Auto is getting $8.99 too, or thereabouts.

It's not that the price has risen, it's that the purchasing power of the dollar currency has diminished.

I know they can still be bought cheaper, was just adding to this when I saw the price mentioned elsewhere and I looked them up.

You can get a $40 end zone seat today in Tampa. The equivalent of $8.00 in 1976.
