A phone that would do that is pretty cheap. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

I'll have to take your word for it. My understanding was that the phones themselves are not all that expensive. It's the plan you have to pay for that costs. Not so? How much does one of these phones/plans cost? Never thought I'd have to look into cell phone services, just to enter a bracket race! And no hard copy of your timeslip, regardless? Take care. Tom Worthington If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

IMO, smart phones are an expensive waste of money. But a handy one. You can relax away from your computer and check out DRR. Weather at your fingertips. Email of course if you want or need it. The best cameras you can have in your pocket. Which means also a really handy magnifying glass.....not that I need that. Probably best is that I can be in the middle of an engine build, and if I want to double check the torque spec on an ARP fastener, 15 seconds later I have it. That said, I am sure most tracks will accommodate those who don't have smart phones. To some extent I admire your commitment to not having one and not buying back. It's not a commitment I share, but some people can't commit to anything today. Foxtrot Juliet Bravo

What if, and it seems quite possible other tracks will adopt these procedures you go someplace where cell service is poor. Happens to me out west more often than you thihnk. Boise for instance. I use my phone as my pager for weather info. Well in Tucson, Boise and Fallon I have very poor cell service. So what I don't get a slip or do we have to use their approved providers as well? Just curious because it CAN be an issue. "I am not ashamed to confess I am ignorant of what I do not know." Marcus Tullius Cicero

It terrifies me that we have so many people in positions of authority already surrendering to a completely alien way of doing business! If the nation went back to NORMAL BUSINESS, before this BS SCAM with only the people that's lives would be at risk isolated, Monday with the hot weather and sane people using reasonable precautions this virus could be history before June 1st! A virus EXPERT, unlike the boobs the President is taking advice from, says the virus DIES at 80 Degrees F! TAKE IT TO THE BANK!!!!! Later, Bill Koski

I don't know that surrendering is portraying it at all. This has forced us to think of creative ways to deal with this and get us back to racing. I'm sure that the tracks will have alternative ways to get tickets in case cell service is down or the user doesn't have a smart phone. The sky is not falling in this case. Just because there are changes, doesn't mean they are bad. Foxtrot Juliet Bravo
