Interested in the idea but would like to hear from people involved with it rather than just hear the sales pitch from training outfits.

If you can get the gig its great. Like most deals where its easy money for work done they have had rules put in place to keep other out.

Sure all states have different requirement. Some require x--- amount of years working for certified company or work experience.

The job itself pretty simple. Crawling under house biggest part of it. If asking you know routine. Be sure to check state requirements, insurance for liabilities and such. Good luck and get ready to have more bada$$ new racey car parts.LOL

INTERNACHI has lots of good info.
In Florida it is quite stringent to become a certified home inspector.
You should have a background in construction to do it.
There are lots of things in a house that can be skewed.
General structure, a/c, engineering, plumbing, hidden defects.
People that no nothing about construction are counting on you to find out everything that is wrong with a dwelling before they spend hard earned monies on it.
I checked into it some years back, but then had to have my knees replaced and that kind of precluded doing any crawling in attics or around foundations, so I went to facilities manager scope.
