I know most on here are not into Heads-up racing but WOW 3.7x on a 275 radial is getting it done almost within a tenth of the pro mod cars.

I was there watching. Number one and two qualifiers ran those 3.74's side by side. Very impressive.

3000 hp plus. There's more et left in them.

Big question is at what speed does the tire disintegrate.

I did the transmission on a Petty tuned twin procharger car, for ten years.

They made 3000 hp plus back then, difference today is the 60 ft times and weight. Back then they had to weigh 3150 lbs / stock suspension.

The reason they're approaching pro mod et's 1/8 mile, is because the best drag racing technology on the planet is in play. The best of the best build the engines and transmissions / tune.

They're learning A LOT.

Technology.

Like for instance the Powerglide transmission was doomed until Sonnax developed this.

Anything high power can use one of these /powerglide.

Speaking of which, what would we be seeing if it was not allowed?

Obviously we would see cars running crazy ET time to time, but would it be repeatable round after round without TC?

One of our good customers won the 2022 Pro 275 series championship. That car is a 959 Fulton/Switzer/Motec nitrous combination. That’s his old car, we built him a new one which will debut here soon. Pretty crazy going .97x 60’s on a 275 tire, but there a lot of high tech stuff going on in those cars. While it may seem like a Pro Mod on 275’s the chassis layout and setup is totally different.

While I’m sure most have traction control, the idea is to make a pass without it having to engage. All it would do is slow the car down and you then lost the round.

As quickly as wheel speed builds if it spins at the hit, T/C won’t be able to catch the rpm and save the run.

You won’t find a glide in any of those cars that are competitive…

I'm going to have to disagree with that. Especially if two cars break the tires loose, I'm going to bet that computer car is going to react faster than the non computer car.

nobody at that level is going to show up and try to be competitive without T/C, so both cars are going to have it, so…

If both cars blow the tires off, you now have a pedalfest…
