Should be very interesting to see what happens to this track, I think the family is going to get a fight from a sand and gravel company. We already lost our other local track (TriState) earlier this year, it would be tragic to lose this one.

RIP Mr. Weinle, many people didn't get along with his old school ways, but I credit him for keeping this track going for over 40 years.

I heard the gravel pit had tried to buy it for several years, hopefully his family decides to keep it

The family is saying that they will continue to operate the track and have hired a new manager. They were handing out printed schedules at a car show last weekend, so it looks like they intend to keep it going.

Pics on FB show second half of 1/4 mile being redone with concrete, scoreboards replaced, new timing system. Looks like the family is serious about keeping the track going.

that is good news, the last half of the track and shutdown has been rough since the early 90's. good for the area racers with tri state closing, Edgewater needs to survive. racers need to support them.

Looking forward to it, one of the grandkids favorite tracks.

Just a followup on the Edgewater track, they did a great job this season with the renovations, paid guaranteed purse all year, did some stuff they haven't done in 25 years. They had some good shows for the fans with gassers, nostalgia funny cars, and street outlaw guys. There were a few glitches along the way, so in response they have named Scotty Richardson as Race Director for 2021.

Many time World Sportsman Champion Scotty Richardson is an experienced very smart guy who knows the business end of running a track. You can expect that Edgewater will be a successful facility for both the Owners and the Racers. The area Racers need to support Edgewater and help spread the word, word of mouth carries more weight than advertising.
