NHRA just wants to hang out with the cool kids - status quo, with the money. Same as Goodyear.

Principles aren't real popular these days.

Their sandbox, Their rules. You watch, other sanctioning bodies will soon follow. In all reality, it has no place. It is bad enough tracks are closing and going belly up with this industry falling on bankruptcy times.

Nah, you'll see a bunch of performance manufacturing companies can now survive a lot, not anything but a lot. They haven't been stocking anything since the last meltdown in 2007, they learned.

A lot of us knew nothing was fixed in 2007, so we knew this was inevitable, only a matter of time. That's why everything just about has been special order.

For a manufacturer with a bunch of stock on the shelf right now, I agree with you.

The NHRA rulebook states, 11:1 ADVERTISING AND OTHER MATERIAL/DISPLAYS

"NHRA reserves the right to regulate any advertising or other material that is present on site at any NHRA event including without limitation any material appearing on any participant, on the body or any other visible part of any vehicle or transporter participating in NHRA events including support vehicles, in any pit area, in any area of the dragstrip from the staging lanes to the end of the dragstrip, and any item or material on site that may constitute product placement. Participants and vehicles may be excluded from competition and from event facilities if, in NHRA's discretion, any advertising or other material displayed on a person, race or support vehicle, or in a pit area or otherwise is not in the best interests of NHRA and the sport of drag racing, and/or is or may be in conflict with any applicable law.

"Moreover, NHRA will require compliance with all guidelines and requirements of any telecaster for events that will be telecast. In addition, NHRA may require certain indicia to be visible on a vehicle as a condition of participation in competition if NHRA determines that such requirement is in the best interests of NHRA and the sport of drag racing.

"The NHRA logo or name may not be used in conjunction with political candidates."

NHRA confirmed if a team is legitimately sponsored by a candidate, with the candidates name and year of the election, it may remain on the car. However, NHRA said in the statement the vehicle will not be prominently featured/emphasized on television or in other content, per broadcast standards and practices. Decal size will be limited to 144 square inches on a race vehicle and 48 square inches on a motorcycle. Location will be limited to the rear quarter panel of a race car, outside for the drivers compartment of a dragster and wheelie bar side shields on a motorcycle.

The memo also detailed a driver could be disqualified from competition.

"If a matter is deemed by NHRA not to be in the best interests of NHRA and the sport of drag racing, then NHRA will not allow such matter to be displayed or advertised on-site or in connection with NHRA in any manner whatsoever. NHRA, in its sole and absolute discretion, may take any action, up to and including disqualification of a driver, for violation of this rule.

"By way of illustration and without limitation, online gambling is an activity deemed by NHRA to be not in the best interests of NHRA and the sport of drag racing, and an activity that NHRA will not allow to be displayed or advertised on site at any NHRA event or in connection with NHRA in any manner whatsoever. Websites that allow gaming that is entirely free and for fun may be permitted pursuant to further guidelines that may be requested from NHRA. Violation of any part of any such guideline will be treated as violation of the NHRA Rulebook."

All this means is that they wont and can't spend any additional time. It doesn't mean that they have to avoid it. Luckily, since the Nazi hot rod association decided to ignore it, it raised more attention than it would have if they would have allow the 17 viewers on TV to watch it.

I would imagine so. Everyone wants to complain but most everyone keeps feeding the beast. So nothing will change, the lefty's will keep getting their way as long as everyone keeps feeding them.

Me, I only let em get me once. Get me once shame on you, get me twice shame on me.

Power is now corrupt right out in the open for everyone to see, they're not even hiding it. And everyone just keeps feeding the beast system.

That's what we're looking at here a beast system, next they'll normalize pedophilia.

You know in a way I can understand what they are doing. I know some people would not like to see Joe Biden on cars.

In our business I tell my husband to keep his politics to himself. LOL

While "Black Lives Matter, Lesbian gay, bisexual, transgender pride" is being crammed down the American peoples throats, it's mandatory nearly.

Someone needs to start speaking up! This is turning into some kind of orchestrated freak show. None of this is organic, these people are being used as a tool to push an agenda.

Black Lives Matter are just the latest useful idiots paraded around on the Ellen Degenerate show.

NHRA, like NASCAR, doesn't give a damn about fans. They are pandering to the politically correct corporations that sponsor the series and the top teams.

I don't think the truth of that statement could be more clear. When they run races w/o fan in the stands, that kinda makes a pretty loud statement about the need for "fans". The TV revenues are enough to sustain them.

Let us not forget about all the misc vendors including food that are taking a tremendous financial hit. Last time i checked, a beer was $7 and a HD was $5. They have customers by the gonads
where as tracks don't even allow any type of cooler in the track. Let alone water for the walk ins.

The NHRA is slowly dying and they don't even realize it. Like a frog in a pan of boiling water, by the time the frog realizes its getting hot, its too late. I have said for years that the HRA's business models were out dated. In todays political and social climate it may be to late for the NHRA to survive in its current form. Same can be said for NASCAR. An old adage paraphrased, they have left the dance, but not with the one that brought them. Corporate greed has overtaken the mission statement of NHRA.

I'm not saying we should go back to the 'good old days' what I am saying is that they need to understand what got them there, who got them there. The corporate suits apparently don't give a d a m n. The, NHRA, have elevated corporate azz kissing to a new level.

They are pandering to the corporations because that's where the bulk of their $$$ comes from, but when the fans are all finally gone, the corporations will go too. No reason to stay if there's no fans to market to.

NHRA and NASCAR are pandering to the left thinking that they are protecting themselves.

News Flash...Once these people on the left obtain power, they will come after both the NHRA and NASCAR full force and shut them down because they are killing the planet with their "death machines" causing climate change.

If you pander to fear...you are dead.
