After recording a 75K runner-up at last month's ATI BIGFOOT 75K, Nick Hastings worked his way through a tough field at the Summit Racing Equipment Super Pro $75K Challenge to meet Chris McGuire in the finals... and he did so hitting the bottom bulb, off the footbrake. With the giant 75K Loose Rocker Eagle trophy on the line, Hastings swapped feet to a .009 at the hit. McGuire's dragster failed to launch, the heartbreaking result of a throttle component failure. Hastings lifted early to pick up the W for his biggest Loose Rocker win. John Labbous and Tom Pistole were the semifinalists.
The rest of the weekend's schedule includes $12,500 to Win events on both Saturday and Sunday.
After wading through 309 entries in the Saturday $12.5K at the Summit Racing Equipment Super Pro 75K Challenge, Skirt Vickers stood in the Loose Rocker winner's circle for the third time. Vickers stopped another former champ in the finals, Corey Manuel.
Travis Varner picked up the $3K Gamblers check when Caraline McCarty narrowly broke out in the finals.
Sunday, registration opens at 10am, with GodSpeed Ministries church services at 11am, and new entry time runs at 12:15. There's another $12,500 to win race for just $160 entry!
The Summit Racing Equipment Super Pro $75K Challenge wrapped up on Sunday with Ken Batchelor taking the win in the final $12,500 to win event of the week over Clayton Roberts. John Labbous and Chris Cadle were the semifinalists.
