Rumors huh you won't spread any, but you post up here like you know something. Drama much?

You're right, that was a dumb thing to post.

Steve Taylor's original idea was called "Drag 2000" He suggested running for packages where a .002 red and a .002 green were the same light. And a .002 under and a .002 over were the same et.

Yes, that is my recollection as well, and those were (and still are) dumb ideas.

TruStart I am fine with.

There are lots of opinions. You probably said you haven't heard a valid one because you disagree.
My opinion is that the faster car should have an advantage that the other car redlights and the race is over.
And I race in Stock Eliminator with one of the slowest cars in the class.Running low 11's,I rarely leave second.I almost always have the first chance to redlight.
I think it probably makes sense when both racers are leaving off of the same signal with delay boxes.
But I'm just not a fan of it.Probably getting old and set in my ways.[/QUOTE]

It has nothing to do with agree or disagree. The fact of the matter is that Bracket racing was invented to put everyone on a level playing field, no matter their wallet size.

At a certain point your ET is tied to cubic dollars, and not your ability to tune. You can only tune an engine of any size to go so fast. Without the money for the good stuff, you can only do so much.

That's why I think True Start should be implemented everywhere.

That being said, why do you think it should not be implemented everywhere? Not trying to argue. I genuinely wonder why.

It's just my opinion, and you are not going to like it,but I don't think it should be implemented everywhere.
Why?
First reason,as I stated earlier,is that I believe there should be some additional advantage to building a faster car.Everyone's budget can't afford going faster, but it should still be the goal in drag racing.
Second reason is that the car that leaves first had a "cleaner " tree.I know you don't look at the other side of the tree when it comes down, but you can be distracted by the sound of your opponent leaving.
Third, is that I think it can be dangerous seeing your green light come on,and then it turns red later if you redlighted worse than your opponent.
I'm not trying to argue either. If True Start were to be everywhere, I wouldn't quit.I would still race.
However, my true opinion is that if True Start is used, and there is a double redlight, then BOTH drivers should be eliminated.
.001 red to .002 red are both redlights and both should be disqualified.
It doesn't really happen all that much that it is even an issue.

I am the best foot brake racer ever, even better than Wrongo Rietow, Fern, Alford and everyone else mentioned here or anyone who will ever be.

But, since I am such a humble person I have decided to never showcase my untapped potential in the footbrake arena. Since I am probably the worst S/C racer on planet earth it goes without saying that I am surely the exact opposite and am without a doubt the best footbraker that ever lived!

Even the mighty Ed trembles in his boots at night at the mere thought of having to race me in a footbrake contest. I fear no stacker trailer racer, no 23 degree short block builder, no old men who have footbraked forever. I am the fearless and mighty. You mere mortals can only dream of being like me!

Don’t bother calling, emailing or messaging me to try to change my mind. I have retired before I started because I’m so awesome!

I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming, carry on!

Jody Lang.....hands down. 56 division wins. 30 national wins. Countless Summit E.T. wins. I know some of those wins were in SS but the majority was in Stock.

When everything is coming your way, your probably in the wrong lane.

As a witness to many of Jody's wins including divisional, National and what we consider big money bottom bulb races, I have to agree. We only have one true Footbrake races out here and if he doesn't win, he at least goes very deep every year.

There are plenty of very realistic Top 10 or Top 25 candidates but the best, without question, is Nick Hastings. Period, end of story.

Those other 9 or 24 that would be on the list would all agree with you.
