Is anyone hearing about the Motorplex trying to institute a new bracket program. Has not been one since 2017 but I do hope the info I have is correct. I know there are some who don't care for the Plex but we do need another venue in N E Texas.

Per Ryan Gleghorn on his Facebook page.

With the first points weekend quickly approaching I figured now is a good time to let the cat out of the bag.
I have been hired in for 2023 and beyond to be the Director of the Bracket Program here at the Motorplex. I am very excited to bring a program back alongside the talented crew we have to what I’ve always considered my home track.
I’m also aware we haven’t had a program since 2018. I am starting from the ground up on making this a series that we can all be proud of weither that be our racers from competing in it and ourselves putting it on.
For 2023 our points program will be FREE to enter. This is a thank you to the racers that plan on supporting us as we build this program into the future. Each class champion will receive a Gold Card for 2024 along with other prizes we are still building on for the following places. Our Overall Track Champion will receive a Weekend Entry to the 2024 Spring Stampede and our Jr Overall Champion will receive a 2024 Spring Stampede Jr Dragster Weekend Entry and also a 2023 Christmas on the Coast Weekend Entry which will be held at Gulfport Dragway.
Speaking of champions one of the things when I came in is I wanted to make some things right that I felt haven’t been done yet from our previous season. We will be giving the 2018 Track Champions the Gold Cards they never got to utilize for this season. Those racers being Scott Wallace in Super Pro, Anthony Jack in Pro and Brad Baxter in Sportsman.
We will be taking teams to the Jr Dragster Western Conference Finals, Division 4 Jr ET Finals, and NHRA Division 4 Bracket Finals. I‘M excited to bring some championships back where they belong!
I will be posting different things such as entry raffles, points flyers, and rules on this page as we get closer to our opening weekend. I just want to say once again how excited I am to work for all you racers and I cannot wait to swing the gates open on 2023!

The schedule that has been posted so far shows two weekends, with a Saturday and Sunday race. Thus, a total of four bracket races. There may be more, or I may not be seeing the complete situation.

The classes, the entry, the buyback and the payout are an exact duplicate of XRP. When something works as good as XRPs program, ya got to copy it. I like the fact they will have a 1/4 mile shootout race during the July date. Hope it all works out and the program can grow to what it once was.

Not a fan of buybacks at a weekly bracket program but how else are they gonna make any money I guess

I am glad to see the Motorplex is going to have some bracket races and I wish Ryan Gleghorn well. Still I do not think the owner likes bracket racing or even wants it on his track unless he makes lots of money every race. Gleghorn has a lot of tough challenges ahead of him and the bracket races are least of his issues.

Personally I like BuyBacks, I tend to attack tree harder because I know I could buy back if I had to and it usually helps with a larger payout to win.

Trying to get all my cars ready for the first Motorplex bracket race but it is not looking good.

The fairest way to do it is if you buy back, you don't get any points. Win-win for the track & the racers.

Not to take anything away from Motorplex and Gleggy putting this on but unless XRP changed their program from 2022 to 2023 Motorplex program isn't the same. Motorplex flyer is the same from their 2017 program I believe though.

2022 XRP program:
SP: 3,000 to win $100 entry/$50 bb
No Box: $1500 win, $60 entry/$30 bb

2023 Motorplex program:
SP: $2,000 to win $75 entry/$30 buyback
No Box: $1000 to win, $60 entry/#30 buyback

XRP pays back to 1/8's and all paybacks are higher in every round through the R/U as well.

There are only 2 weekends scheduled for 2023 at Ennis February 25/26 and July 29/30 and Gleggy said these would be the only ones on his FB post for this year, more coming in 2024 hopefully.

I hope Gleggy can pull it off, like stated by the OP we need more venues in NTX, but there is a clip of Billy Meyer stating "I think bracket racing has destroyed our sport in sportsman racing" so you are fighting an uphill battle for certain.
