I have had amazing luck with summit and just miserable times with jegs so im a summit guy all the way.
Just a weird thought...dont you wonder if bill bader and the jegs family realized before they signed away their babies that their companies would potentially be torn down and pillaged by the new owners? Or is the financial reward so enormous there are no fawks givin?

I never see where anyone speaks of Motor State Distributing. I know they are wholesale race parts but there has to be a work around. Lane Automotive is part of this family as well. The race only inventory available to MS is amazing.

If anything it'll be the clown house of cards that gets any one of us.

From what I can tell the new approach gives JEGS a wider reach, not lesser reach.

On a positive note I can report of excellent customer service recently from JEGS on situation out of their control, and the vendor never did answer the phone for technical assistance.

JEGS main man customer service rep got on the phone and handled it like a pro, knew exactly the problem and sent out another brand part as a remedy, at zero cost to us. I thought that was pretty stand up. He didn't have to do that.

Problem resolved!

Maybe it's just me but I have difficulty in spending money with a company that uses that profit to compete against me (Super Gas and Super Comp). Other folks may have a different feeling about this , but it always bothered me.

Win on Sunday, sell on Monday.

I don't care who I race, can't even remember half the time.

You need people to race, last man standing doesn't win.

Remember that.

I am gonna do more biz with SUMMIT though, they're sponsoring my new girl now, Orlando.

SUMMIT has a brand new nice looking shiny clean scoreboard sign in the lane I prefer. It's a natural fit.

I buy from Liberty, Jegs and Summit. Jegs has been great to us. Hope it continues.
We have Speed Warehouse or EPW. here. If they don’t have what I need then we start calling.

As stated back when this thread started, just business. I'm sure the JEG'S family has been monitoring the slow decline of race and car enthusiast. The new generation no longer looks for performance, now it's reliability and mileage. With the electric vehicles making a move, drag racing will be seeing an end in the coming years. How many of you speak of tracks closing in your area. Writing on the wall for our sport. Man, how I loved it, competition, friendships made, spending my kids inheritance. However, I have seen this coming for at least 10 years. Let's enjoy it while we can, something to tell our grandchildren.

My understanding is Jegs sold the business but kept the building and property so when the new buyers run it into the ground they can buy it back for pennies on the dollar and build it back up.

I get where you are coming from, as a business owner that sells to racers, and sponsors classes. But, that is not fair at all to Jegs or any company like them, that love drag racing as much as the racers do. And lets be honest, they can shut the business down, and still BEAT all of our asses on the track. But if you feel that way, support amazon or whatever bull**** company that doesnt return anything back to the sport...

Here is a good one.I bought an Optima Yellow Top battery from Jegs. (Contrary to what some opinions are,I use one in my trailer with no issues). My current battery is from early 2016,so I figured I'd buy a new one as the prices will probably be going up anyways.
Got the battery about 3 weeks ago.It only had 12.1 volts.Charged it at 2 amps for 24 hours and it didn't go higher than 12.2 volts.Serial number shows a battery made in the 3rd week of 2022.I called them and said that this battery is not taking a charge and I want a new battery.
They said they are on backorder, so I said no problem.
Today,I get a package from Fed Ex.Same problem as before.I took a picture of the serial number last time.Turns out, they just sent me the SAME battery back!
Been on the phone for 30 minutes on hold so far.Nobody answers the phone.
Man,did this company ever go down the crapper!
Summit from now on for me!

You should be angry with Optima, why buy an Optima anyway, garbage.

Last Optima I bought was like that, I think if I blasted it for hours I could get it to 12.70,,,, JUNK.

Buy a AGM battery you don't have any idea what you're missing.

I buy from JEGS, no problems.

I buy from SUMMIT, no problems.

If I bought a OPTIMA from either, I'm looking for problems.

Them things are junk nowadays.

I have one big Diehard AGM in my Nova, it weighs 85 lbs.

Get a refund and a AGM.

I told one guy first come first serve, he called the next morning, it was long gone by then, so he proceeds to threaten me, saying he told me he was coming the next morning to get it LoL.

I laughed my azz off, OPTIMA is WAY overrated,,,, JUNK.

Put it on FB marketplace for sale, watch what happens.

I thought the Optima Yellow was an AGM battery?

The battery was manufactured in January of 2022.That means it has been sitting at Jeg's for almost a year.

Why is that the fault of Optima?

If you got a fresh date you're looking for, it's best to lay your eyes on it before pushing the purchase button IMO.

I bought one online too, as I said,,, Junk.

Bob,

I don’t have problem with those companies fielding cars I have to race against. I do however have a problem with my government racing against me with my own tax dollars.

Years ago there was a drag team out of Ft. Hood Texas. There were articles on them in Hot Rod Magazine. They showed up at Amarillo and I was booing them and people were asking me why. What was hilarious was later on in one the articles they claimed the team was not funded by our taxes.

Bulls—t was my response to that!
