From about the 660 cone (normally 124-125 mph) to the finish line (161-163 mph) I have been experiencing a lot of what I first thought was a vibration, like a front tire/wheel assembly out of balance with my Davis ’27 “T” Roadster. It turned out to be air catching the HANS device and shaking me, not the car. I replaced the HANS Device with a neck collar for one run and the shaking/vibration completely stopped. I am not about to abandon the HANS for a neck collar but wondered if anyone else has experienced the same issue. I increased the height of the windshield an additional two inches but it didn’t help. This is not a high speed car but the shaking/vibration is so bad that I have difficulty seeing the track from around the 660 cone to the finish line. Anyone else have a similar experience? Bob

No issues for me. I’m using a Necksgen. Which one are you using Bob? Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right. Here I am.......

It's a roadster thing. I have to lean my head back against the seat to keep my head from being buffeted around by the air. I can only turn my head so far with the neck restraint on anyway so it isn't a big deal to turn and look with my head against the seat. My new helmet with duckbill isn't as bad as my old helmet was and my car is not an aero version roadster. I also use the Necksgen. Vern, I have the old standard HANS unit that I bought through Summit a couple of years ago. I am more comfortable using it over a Simpson neck collar but my vision from 660 on isn’tt anything to brag about, it shakes that bad. I’ve tried slouching down in the seat, putting my head back, etc. none of that made a difference. I bought a aero type Simpson helmet, same results. Perhaps it’s a condition unique to this car but it certainly isn’t real comfortable past the 660, it sure keeps you awake. Bob

Bob, I'm assuming that it's the Hans with the part that sticks up in the back behind your helmet? If so can you borrow another type to try? Maybe the one with just the straps? That might solve your problem. One other quick thought, try putting the neck collar on in addition to the Hans and see what happens. Good luck! Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right. Affirmative Vern, it’s the one that sticks up behind your head. The next race for me is the Division 7 event at Fontana in mid May, I’ll try and find another type (brand) and see if that works. Bob
