Hats off to Kenny for driving another great race!!
I also applaud "Skinny" for making the decision "NO SPLIT"
more racers need to make this "NO SPLIT" decision......it definitely adds excitement to the final rounds!!
Great race put on by the Folk Family!!

cartmanHe did split just a couple rounds later

The plan came together as Underwood offers a 125k to win and 100k to lose...we gleefully accepted and the rest is history. Win or lose the million my kid overcame major hurdles and focused in on his task at hand. He lost in the final and he is still a winner to us (his parents).

In the 1/8 at 14 cars Kenny had the bye and rolled the dice betting he could make the 1/4 use the bye and only split at 4. His plan worked. At 4 there was $345k in the pot ($275k w, $50k ru, $10k semi). The semis got $60k

Yes it did and also added about $70k to the pot that could have gone to the 7 losers of that round. The other 13 had pretty much decided on $10k to the losers of that round.

329LAnd for the haters that will say he is greedy, I offer this argument. He wasn't greedy, he was ok with going home with 3k, instead of whatever bs split somebody was coming up with.

Heck it's all about the money. It's a big money race so greed is fine. LOL

Yeah, what's up with the greedy BS!
In circle track racing there ain't no damn splittin'!
Do the NHRA Pro's work our splits too?
Boucher Jr, you work splits at 16, 8, or 4? Maybe 2?

wideopen231Hey I am all for splits. Why would you split if you had bye? You wouldn't,thats just giving money away.
America home of free. Brought to you by 2nd amendment.

Curly1Congratulations to Kenny on a great race. Pretty crazy when the runner up gets all of the publicity because of the wreck and stuff. Still Kenny kicked tail and earned it.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

In this case, nobody had the bye until the following round. It was a gamble!

6VoltThere were some that were mad at Kenny for not wanting to split at 14, but I wasn’t one of them. He was holding the last bye run, and he gambled on himself to turn on the win light he needed. And it’s not like we all said “Well, Kenny doesn’t wanna split so i guess we are running for what’s on the flyer.” A bunch of us made deals at 14 and at 7. I lost at 7 and was paid a little more than the quarter finalist got in last years million. Just just cause the official split didn’t happen doesn’t mean that the money didn’t get spread around.

That's right! If he lost at that point, the bye run goes with it, so does a butt load of money! He gambled that he would win that round, and the bye that went along with that win, and he did it!

Kinda like the 2018 US Open Womens Championship!
Everyone knows the tirade Serena Williams caused, yet she was just the runner-up.
Poor Naomi Osaka. She gets the biggest win of her career, but all people will remember is the fricking amazon going wild!
Osaka got $3.8m for 7 rounds.
The beast got $1.85m for winning 6 rounds.
Wish Drag Racing could do that some day, but without $10k entry fees, we will NEVER see that!

Big SteveHolding the last bye Kenny made a very smart business decision at 14 cars and it paid off in cold hard cash
Some have a saying, if you want a split then go to Baskin Robbins or Dairy queen ....
October 23, 2018, 03:17 PM
markemarkAt 4 left and $345k in the pot Kenny wasn’t taking any chances. Why do you think the semis got paid $60k?? Because KU knew he could be that guy and that $60k not split in prior rounds still makes a great pay day.

TORQINCongrats to Kenny! Will go down in the history books as one of the best bracket racers ever.
