I missed the Jasmine Salinas - Justin Ashley race that had to be Re-Ran. What happened? Something about clock malfunction?

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

At the 2026 NAPA Auto Parts NHRA Midwest Nationals in St. Louis, Justin Ashley defeated Jasmine Salinas in a rare and historic Top Fuel rerun during the second round of eliminations.
The Staging Issue & Rerun Decision
During their initial round-two pairing, a timing and scoring system malfunction disrupted the start. While Jasmine Salinas' pre-stage and stage bulbs worked normally, Justin Ashley's bulbs flickered erratically, and he never saw his bottom bulb turn on.
When the Christmas Tree activated seven seconds later, Salinas launched down the track alone, clocking a 3.815-second pass at 329.99 mph. Ashley never left the starting line. Minutes later, NHRA officials ruled that the tree had malfunctioned and ordered a complete rerun of the matchup.

Smart on his part ! Was he staged didn’t see any replay?

He tried to stage, lit top bulb, rolled into second bulb and it would not come on. We had the same issue in Pomona. However, when it happened to us, NHRA denied it until it happened to a Pro a day later..
