Alan Reinhart leaves NHRA
A sad day for all of us racers that have enjoyed the voice of NHRA for 30 plus years. Hopefully Alan will be heard at Divisional events in 2025. All the best Alan whatever you decide to do.

When everything is coming your way, your probably in the wrong lane.

Alan's a hell of an announcer, possibly just not corporate enough which is great! Wishing him all the best.

Alan is a great announcer it's a shame to lose him, sort of like the 1920 Red Socks losing Babe Ruth, still the greatest "Error" in baseball history.

I wish Alan all the best.

I hated to see that. He brings a great deal of fun to the mic. Anyone can spout the numbers on the screen but to make it interesting when you are only listening on the net and not watching it on a screen takes skill.

Not "diverse" enough.

I heard he refused to wear a dress. Wink

He used to even post here. Cannot emphasize enough how much I have enjoyed hearing him on the mic over the decades. Through that microphone, he has even taught me many things over the years. His passion for the sport and our people came through loud and clear.

If, by some miracle he is still lurking here...
Just want to say, Mr Reinhart, you will be missed. THANK YOU for your many years of making race-days better! And best wishes for what you have ahead!

As he said all things must end someday. His contract wasn't renewed so he is open to pursue other venues. I will miss him.

Doesn't he live in Tucson? We don't have any IHRA events in California so he will have a long drive to work.

Class guy, perhaps the best friend a Sportsman Racer could have.

Good Luck Alan!

Reinhart Named IHRA VP of Racing Operations

HAMILTON, Ohio — Alan Reinhart, one of the most familiar names in all of drag racing, has joined the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) as the new Vice President of Racing Operations.

Reinhart is the longtime voice of the sport with decades of experience, announcing at the largest national events. He will have an expanded role with IHRA. One of his initial priorities is to work with new IHRA President Rich Schaefer on establishing schedules.

Besides providing commentary at the IHRA Nitro Jam events, Reinhart will be a liaison for the professional teams and work with track operators and other stakeholders. He will also serve in a leadership role where he’s involved with management in setting policies and procedures.

“I’m looking forward to a new challenge,” Reinhart said. “I was with NHRA a long time, and it was an adventure for 30-plus years going to all the races. The opportunity to take on this new venture at a management level, it was time for a change.”

His experience gained over decades of attending everything from national events to weekend bracket races are going to be drawn upon in this new role. The years on the road taught him what works and doesn’t work, what makes racers happy and how to make an event run smoothly.

Fans can reach out to or reconnect with Reinhart through e-mail at announcer@ihra.com and ask questions about different race procedures.
