-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.
Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

mavmanLocal place sells them
they don't get good reviews
I have worked on one or two, and scrapped at least one of them. Cheaper to replace it than to actually repair it.
"Dealers" are here today, gone tomorrow it seems

Jodie JentMaybe check your FB Marketplace or local Craigslist. Around here there are several dealers that sell them from home and not necessarily a retail shop.
We purchased 2 for the boys back in 2013. Both were still going at 5-6 years until we sold them. I replaced a carb on one once for about $25 or so new and maybe replaced a faulty starter switch on another.
We sold them after 5-6 years of use for about 200-250 less each than what we originally paid for them new. They both sold rather quickly also. I thought we got our moneys worth from them for the amount the kids rode them.
Both of these were the smaller 110 frames with the 125cc engine upgrade.
We now have one of the larger adult style frame units with the 150cc engine and reverse with no issues so far.

T172JRJunk! Try finding a part when it breaks. Bought my daughters used Yamaha's and never had an issue. They hold their value and you can get parts anywhere.

JimPowersportsmax, they are out of Texas. I have bought 2 of them for grandkids. Shipped truck freight with minor assembly. Looks like a honda engine, sounds like a honda engine, runs like a honda engine, just doesn't say honda. Zero problems.

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Actually Honda has many facilities and not just Japan. Kumamoto Facility Japan, Honda Power Equip USA, Honda Italia Industrial, Thai Honda, and Jialing-Honda Motors China where most small displacement engines are made.
Take care

BuckyI bought my son a china mini four wheeler....geeze I think he was probably 4. It was a lot of fun for him until he was large enough to handle a bigger fourwheeler, which was a Japanese one. It wasn't worth selling by that time. It's an argument for small investment or a large investment that retains some residual value at the end.
Fast forward to now, he's learning how to rebuild a YFZ 450 engine with a two piece connecting rod.

Stephen HughesMy personal experience was with dirt bikes but same deal, cheap chinese vs name brand Japanese bike. We bought a cheap one to get my son started and i probably spent twice what I paid replacing parts and keeping it going. Now my son isn’t the easiest on equipment and only knows wide open or idle. Thats his two speeds. So last Christmas we stepped up and got him a Kawasaki kx140l, he has rode the dog out of that thing and has had no trouble at all. If I had it to do all over again I would have bought him a name brand bike first, then when he outgrew it, sell it to somebody else looking for a decent starter. Just my opinion of course.

J OlejniczakI have 2 ATV's I bought for my grand kids used. These things sell like crazy where I am for name brand ones. I have a Suzuki 50cc 2 stroke that I rebuilt the engine with a 2 over piston, milled the head and it screams now. Also have a Yamaha I beleive it is 80cc with a 3 speed auto shifter.Put in a new battery and rebulit the carb. Kids love them and run all the time when needed. My brother bought one of those chinese ones and we were fixing it all the time as well.

mavmanI think many tend to forget that some of the youth atv's are rebadged.
the yamaha 50 and 90 and for a short while the grizzly 300, also the kawasaki 50 and 90 and then the kawasaki brute force 300, are built by Kymco. KYMCO is an abbreviation of Kwang Yang Motor Company, out of.....TAIWAN.
can't speak for honduh. Haven't dealt with them.
Polaris....all the bigger stuff...American and Canadian, FWIW. Don't know about the lil'uns.
all you gotta do is look at the vin number. First character will tell you the country of origin. I thought my Zuma was japanese. Nope. L for the first character designates CHINA
