While a ton of misinformation *has* come from individuals and private organizations, the irony in that article is absolutely staggering, as both government officials and social media platforms have routinely ignored science and data in order to promote false information while censoring factual information and scientific discourse in search of further factual information. We've gone 1984.
Quoted for truth. Information, spin, "facts"....all used and manipulated for power today more than ever. Our government will do anything to keep itself in charge of the people.

The Biden Administration has made an exciting announcement that the 3 branches of government are expanding to 4. Now the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches are joined by the Big Tech branch of government...

As the U.S. government ramps up its effort to force social media companies to censor "misinformation," take a moment to remember that any talk of a "lab leak" was considered "misinformation" for months.
If the government gets to define "misinformation," free speech is dead.

At 11:59 P.M. Saturday night Los Angeles County (about 12 million people) goes back to "MANDATED" mask wearing indoors. This is for Vaccinated or non-vacinated people. Ain't that special!
When everything is coming your way, your probably in the wrong lane.

Here we are a year and a half in on a virus that was to be an almost extinction level event. Wife (retired RN) said will be bad for some due to its being new to humans. An awful lot of have been lost or have complications that will last the rest of their life.
We have not gotten vax. Unless mandated, I doubt we will at this time. Reasons? Major lack of coherent steady information, short development cycle and zero manufacturer liability. Internal family information is only thing we have certainty on. To date there is no positive covid test in direct bloodline across many states. We have even been to Disney, travelled a fair amount. Family likewise so nobody is really isolated. Some have had vax and been fine, some had issues with vax.
Our choice is based strictly on what we know and can verify. If they make mandatory or eliminate the liability exemption maybe we would feel different.

Ed, why did you bother posting on what you clearly know nothing about? Go back to sleep and try again. Maybe you can address spark plug heat ranges.

If the government gets to define "misinformation," free speech is dead.
Washington (CNN)Senior Biden administration officials overseeing an intelligence review into the origins of the coronavirus now believe the theory that the virus accidentally escaped from a lab in Wuhan is at least as credible as the possibility that it emerged naturally in the wild -- a dramatic shift from a year ago, when Democrats publicly downplayed the so-called lab leak theory.

Greater than 90% of the Covid-19 Delta derivative that has caused what is now the fifth wave of huge hospitalizations, is from anti vaccination types. It’s just a matter of time before a strain morphs that the existing vaccination does not stop. The cycle will continue to hurt the economy and kill or hurt more humans.
Most of the fifth wave victims say the same thing, from the hospital bed. I wish I had taken the vaccination offered.

And right there is who owns the pollicization of the vaccines. That was the start of people being influenced by the politics behind it and aligning trust of the vaccine with the trust they had in those pushing it. Trust in Demoncrats is at an all time low. (not great for any politician really). So when they push like hell on it, it makes everyone step back and look more closely at the big picture.

We have a local concert venue called The Cain's Ballroom. This month Greenday has been in town rehearsing for their upcoming concert series. Well they decided to rent Cain's and throw an impromptu concert. They set restrictions that you couldn't resell your tickets, (had to show paying card and id when entering) and you had to be vaccinated.
There was quite the uproar when people found out about the restrictions as tickets sold out in 50 minutes. The restrictions were announced before tickets went on sale.
Now I couldn't have cared less since this would never effect me but I got a kick out of all the griping. They are free to do what they did but it seems so many people only like free will if it only effects other people. LOL I am free too skip this concert and my life will never know it happened other than hearing the news. So many people should learn how to deal with things in this manner.
Because they added the vaccination restriction is why I am posting this here. It probably won't be the last time someone does this and I will laugh again when people start whining. When it is required for something we don't have a choice about then that is a different animal though. Just some rambling thoughts by me.

Wait a minute. You had to show ID before entering the concert? Not in California, no ID to vote or enter a concert!

LOL Well, you had to prove that you were the one who bought the tickets because they didn't want them re-sold.
We have had to show ID to vote for as long as I can remember. Contrary to the naysayers it hasn't kept anyone from voting as far as I can tell, no matter their color.
