"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

A friend of mine who had Covid last year (and was hospitalized for a while) just tested positive again. I have no doubt that there's false positives but he's got the same symptoms, including loss of taste and smell that he had last year.

I think much of the Covid hype is simply a fear campaign....However, I lost a cousin to Covid that was healthy before contracting it.

Regarding the vaccine. If you trust your Doctor ask them if you should get it. If you don't trust your Doctor, find another Doctor.

Latest news on the experimental vaccine.

Copied,
"The FDA is planning to release a new warning that the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine is linked to a rare autoimmune disease
Officials say there have been 100 reports of patients developing Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare disorder that temporarily paralyzes parts of the body
Most the cases have occurred about two weeks after vaccination and mostly in men aged 50 and older
Guillain-Barré is very rare after vaccination, occurring in just 0.000781% of patients who have received J&J's one-dose shot
The warning presents another setback for the company, which has been plagued by challenges including a pause due to rare blood clots and ingredient mix-ups"

Honestly I like my dr. He's into motorsports and is down to earth, and socially conservative for the most part. But man the folks in his circles must squawk non stop about how bad Trump is and how important the vaccine is for everyone to get. He's fully bought in on that ****. Make no mistake, he works the hospital on call and saw a lot of covid deals that went bad locally....many were his patients. So that is bound to affect your view on the vaccine. But when it comes to politics, and vaccinating children.....well that's fully bought in IMO. It's not that I don't trust him overall. I just think his judgement is clouded when it comes to this topic.

You know who else knew how important vaccines were? Trump.

And look who was feeding him his information, Fauci. A wolf in sheep's clothing for Trump. Just like all the other executive branch bureaucracies. I fantasized he would take a machete to those bureaus after his reelection, unleash the beast like obama, but they cut his legs out from under him.

Read my statement carefully. I believe the vaccine IS important. But vaccinating EVERYONE is completely unneeded. In fact, it's risky behavior for a country to put all of their eggs in a certain basket IMO. The worst case scenario, while unlikely, could be devastating to our country. Why push this vaccine on those who do not want it? For all practical purposes, we are at herd immunity already. And those who want protection, can get it.

Agreed. I'm in the camp of I've already had covid and thus already have natural antibodies. It's bizarre to me that people have completely ignored the basic science of how and why vaccines work in the first place: the body's natural reaction to infection. It's equally bizarre to me the wild conspiracy theorists and hair-on-fire reactions to vaccines as if they were something completely alien.

Food for thought….

My brother in law just told us that a 32 y/o friend of his son, married with a new baby, just got his 2nd shot and died of a heart attack the next day.

Not to worry because the champions of our civil liberties wants to fact check our private messages....

Biden allied groups, including the Democratic National Committee, are also planning to engage fact-checkers more aggressively and work with SMS carriers to dispel misinformation about vaccines that is sent over social media and text messages.

For me, you don't know what you don't know. Yes we have had vaccines, and RNA vaccines aren't exactly new. But we haven't had THIS vaccine. The fact of the matter is that we are treating a virus that killed a small % of our population and infected probably 13% of it, with a preventative that we have zero experience with specifically. Our current situation is that roughly half of our country has had the jab, and the virus is for most practical purposes is under control. Why the big push to jab everyone else? What is the benefit vs the risks from here forward?

Get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from the virus they got vaccinated against because you're not vaccinated. Roll Eyes

Virus mutation is one. The more it grows and mutates the harder it can be to get a handle on. Just a thought.
