How much power difference between .043 .043 3mm and .9 .9 2mm ring pack in a 632 14.5 .900 lift cam?
Getting new pistons and engine builder Doesn't love the .9 .9 2mm that it has now. I'm not interested in slowing down .04-.05. If it kills .01 or .02 i guess that's not a deal breaker but hate giving up performance if there is not really any benefit. Freshen it every 300-400 passes.

On the dyno it's measureable. I would add that the piston plays a large role here too! Why 2mm oil ring? 3mm low tension is pretty small. I went from an 11 lbs expander to a 21 lbs and notice no power difference in my 632 Pro20 motor with CP pistons and .9, .9 3mm TS rings.

That is just what was in it when I bought it from Oakley. Maybe it was a typo on the build sheet.

I would cal Diamond, JE and a few other piston companies and get their opinions. Ring pack and cylinder prep for those rings is important.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I called total seal and they said .9 .9 is pretty durable in an NA application. I asked about a 150-220hp shot and said they would go .043 top .9 second ring. He said going from .043 .043 to .9 .9 is worth about 8hp.

Heat, it all changes when you have power addition. Small rings won’t take it for long..
For the cost difference and longevity probably .043 top, Napier second and 3mm will work well.
