Anyone had their knees replaced still racing dragsters or tube chassis door cars. AT this point I can not get in or out of my dragster. I have not had anything done yet. Before and after comparison. Thanks Ray
I don't race a dragster, but I had both knees done a couple years ago. Only regret was waiting so long to have it done. Just make sure to follow the surgeons directions and keep up with the physical therapy.

I don't drive a dragster either but I had one done 10 years ago and the other one 2 years ago both done by the same Dr. First was at the VA and the last was at Duke, yes same Dr. I was driving my 8.50 NHRA cert door car 1 month after the first one and about the same with the 2nd. I walk, ski, climb ladders, and a whole lot of things you wouldn't think. Oh, I am also 85 years old. Life is good. You will be glad you did.

I had both knees replaced over the winter. 1 in October & 1 in January. I was in the same situation as you as far as getting in my dragster. I now can get in it and my vega wagon chassis car with no problems. I went back to the gym after 30 days from surgery. I would recommend using a stationary bike as soon as possible. I have no problems any more but make sure to do your homework therapy like they tell you. I'm 53 and should have done it 2-3 years ago.

I’m 90 days out of surgery and going to try to race today if I can get my brain to stop going. This is my second knee, had the first one done almost four years ago. I’m 74 years old. I’ll post again later but if I don’t get some sleep then I’ll be staying home.

Didn’t get any sleep but I still went racing. Lost first round by one thou, did not buy back. My knee did pretty well but was starting to hurt me by time for first round. So all in all not a bad day, got to hang out with several friends and they were all still in when I left. Knee is swollen but should be fine tomorrow.

Cruise control is my friend--I like to drive often 2-3-400mi at a time and my gas pedal knee will bother me after a trip. Cruise control helps with that. Even in my motor home.....
Glad you got to go. As I have grown older the chance to go means more to me than many can understand. My friends are there, always.
