| The grudge races are great for drawing spectators, especially in this area. Notice I didn't say great "for filling the bleachers". That is because grudge race spectators don't use the bleachers. They stand on the starting line. Funny thing is, they might only see maybe 6 actual "races" for the entire day. The vast majority of time is spent smack talking. That wouldn't be so bad, if they didn't do all that smack talking right there in the staging lanes, holding things up. But I'm sure it is helping the track operators bottom line, so I hope they keep right on doing it. On test and tune days, a friend of mine and I have our own bracket grudge races, best 3 out of five. Lately, he has been burying me. But it's a blast, it's cheap, and spectators actually seem to like it (weird, I know). Video of my "grudge races" Take care. Tom Worthington
If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.
