I thought some of you might be interested in this. Maybe not or maybe so. LOL

I wish I were taking vacation time off that I have to use and working on my race car but this has kept me really busy at work.

Ever seen a $205,000 keychain? Laughing Hard

I have a new lathe. Dual spindle with live tooling. 8" main, 5" sub, 2 1/2" through hole, 20hp DNS Solutions 2100LSMB Lynx. Also the wrapped unit in the pics is a Universal brand cobot for lights out operation. Still waiting on my LNS Quick Load Servo 80+ bar feeder to get here. All this will allow me to feed raw bar into the machine and completely finished parts will be unloaded. Many of our parts would have 2 lathe operations and 1 or 2 mill ops that this will do itself. More work with less people.

Should have it up and running next week.

Nice!! Years ago I was a Maintenance manager for a company that made rubber bonded to metal shaft rollers that went into printer cartridges. All our cnc lathes were magazine bar fed. Once they are loaded and running the operator just sits there and read magazines and check a part every now and then, back then there was no cell phones or internet Big Grin

I have 2 other lathes with bar feeders but they don't have live tooling. They also run unattended but a guy does have to empty the parts catcher occasionally.

This new lathe when we aren't using the cobot it has a parts catcher-conveyor that will move the finished parts to a larger container.

This makes my 8th cnc machine in the shop.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

This weeks project was this. Same size and shape as our regular brass plumb bob but made of aluminum, anodized blue and the logo, grads and numbers are done with my laser. It makes them white, they aren't painted. We are going to make a bunch for the company shown to give away as gifts.

The laser has been fun to figure out how to run the software and get what you want from it.
