The event I watched was a speed contest and not a drag race. quite a few 200 plus mph passes. It looked kinda fun.

I think 1/2 mile drag racing will be interesting, if it evolves I'd imagine Tesla having a proving ground in the sports car realm. Talk about MPH doesn't win drag races.

Several years ago there was an interesting race event held in Las Vegas at the old track, it was a three event race. It consisted of a drag race, a circle track race and a road course race. The winner was determined by the combined total qualifying time in each segment, the lowest total time paid $10,000 to the winner. My son Rob flew to Vegas, rented a Porsche 911 at the airport, drove it to the event and came in second. The winner, was a LA Ford dealer driving a Ford GT40.

The following year Rob tried to do the same thing but the Vegas Car Rental Company turned him down, evidently they read about the previous years result in the local news paper.

Hey, it worked once why not try again? Does any know where you can rent a Veyron 267 mph Super Sport 16.4?

1/2 mile in my street cars would be fun. Racecars...not so much.

Madras dragstrip in central Oregon was a 1/2 mile track in the 50's and early 60's.

When everything is coming your way, your probably in the wrong lane.

I doubt they're looking to pull the weekend bracket racer that needs a gear change to run out past the 1/8mi.

What he said...…..

Might even try it in my Challenger SRT8 Blue Man

Considered the same for my Mustang. It is a Ford though so i'll be doing good to get it to start Didn't think of that
