I believe the worst ran race I was ever at was a Kenny Nowling Cluster F. Not sure if Kenny was the announcer or he hired the guy but he never shut up and I never wanted to hear his name again by end of race. Race took forever and they seemed to think we were at the race to sit around and listen to them talk on PA. Talk 4 minutes about his house, his dog, even talked about his Mother in Law then run a pair of cars and talk some more. He talked about his parents house when he was a child, it was at the end of a road over on the left side kind of in the country but still close to city. He talked about the trees there and all kinds of stuff. Stopped race for an hour break in middle of race I guess so we could hear him talk and then right after we start racing again it rained for a few minutes. Get track cleaned up and running again for a few cars. Announcer (Kenny Nowling?)stopped race to talk about someone down near starting line and try to get everyone to sing Happy Birthday to them. Note, he can talk but sure can not sing. Most all of us were ready to kill him to shut him up and let us race cars or load up and go home. Then he was saying on PA his voice was going away? Well STFU and race cars! The track management told us sorry, they leased the track to run this race and they are running it. Talked for hours and hours and never said anything important except " XX class to Staging lanes" then he went back to talking about himself. It was ridiculous.
I wish him and IHRA well but I do have some concerns. Definitely likes to hear himself talk.
https://postimg.cc/gallery/np3zpruo/ "Dunning-Kruger Effect" -a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.
Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.
