The last few (10?) years I have noticed that it has become common practice to have a slow end ET cutoff for footbrake brackets in my area. Why? I could kinda see it, if the same places offered somewhere for cars slower than the cutoff ("Street", "Sportsman") to run in. But that is generally not the case. So the bottom line message becomes, "If you can't run quicker than this number, you aren't welcome to bracket race...at all" I know that the first car I ever bracket raced would not be allowed to, with today's ET cutoffs. I thought the entire logic of bracket racing was that you didn't have to run quickly to participate. And, in fact, the whole purpose was to create a place where you could compete in drag racing without spending much money. Am I mistaken? Take care. Tom Worthington

You are kind of right about why bracket racing started but I have not yet found a cut off time for foot brake. Where did you see this?

I dont know if its an issue anymore, but if I remember correctly many, many, many years ago, the clocks only went to 22 seconds. My 4 cyl chevy Luv truck barely made the cut with a low 21 second time. I had a friend with a Mercury Capri that ran in the 23 second range and he had to dial 22 and hope for the best.

Our footbrake program is 9.99 or quicker but we have a sportsman class if you can’t run that.

When we still ran 1/4 we had a guy who used to bring out his Aveo and it ran high 19.9s I was running 9.50s then and almost got to race him.

Some NC tracks instituted ET cutoffs back in the day to p!$$ off Steve Taylor. It was a lot longer than 10 years ago!

I am not sure about Galot, Roxboro, or Piedmont. They don't have anything mentioned on their sites, but I am sure they have cutoffs for Top, and I can't find that info either. Kinston cuts off at 10.99 (but tomorrow's Roger Rhodes event will be any dial-in). Wayne County (Nahunta) cuts off at 9.99. Northeast cuts off at 9.99, but they DO have Street as an alternative. Piedmont use to be 7.49 for top. I know because my first ever pass I dialed 7.50 and broke out by .3 with secondary's tied off.LOL

Found another. Coastal Plains (Jacksonville) has a 10.99 ET cutoff for footbrake. However , I think they do offer a Sportsman Eliminator as an alternative. One day, I may have to make a trip down there. I haven't done it yet.
