local track has the $20 test and tune on most Fridays. A friend brought his newly turned 16 year old son . he ask me to 'splain the lights and staging ,stuff that he needed to know.He had his moms Ford Focus so not much chance of setting any track records. He made several passes ,low 12s . After a while he told his Dad ," I bet if I worked on it a little I could get in the 11s."
So I got my fat a$$ out and he ran an 11:93. He spent his time in the staging lanes taking cell phone pics of the time slips and sending to his friends.Not what I did on my first pass 55 years ago .
I think hes hooked , he told me his neighbor has an old Monte Carlo , would that make a good race car?

Thats what its all about right there, get them hooked early in life

What you call proper raising right there,even if it was friends kid. Speed and competition has always been best drug there is.
