Today is my dad's & my birthday; RIP dad!

This is a hard day today, being the 1st birthday I'm unable to physically share with my dad. We had always tried to celebrate our birthdays together. The last 20 years we have been going for banana splits on or around our day; it will continue with a different, but similar event!

My two boys & I are going for banana splits in a week or so. Hopefully this starts a new tradition. I hope my one boy enjoys the split; he has never had one!

2BKING RIP dad, I'm thinking about you & mom.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Sorry for your loss. Just burried my grandmother Friday.

When was young my summer vactions always had a trip with Gradnma and Pa. Disney World,Pigeon Forge and Williamsburg(which Pa helped restore in 50's) mostly.

Our honeymoon was in Williamsburg and I told my wife we had to have ice cream on the corner, because every time there Pa and I had Ice cream in that spot.

Great you are carrying on tradition with your sons. Ironic it is ice cream based.

Thanks Guys!

WO, Sorry for the loss of your Grandmother.

Now, on to a lighter note. This is the birthday card my wife of 40+ years gave me today.

Happy Birthday to you and Congratulations for 40 years together. I do not care who you are that is something to be proud of. Too many people do not stick it out for the long term.

Some may wonder or not even care why I posted this thread on DRR.

My dad didn't give 2 shyts about drag racing, but what he did care about was my passion for racing. He was literally on his death bed when I arrived home. His first thing said to me is I'm glad you made it home & I love you. Shortly thereafter he asked me if I brought the whole race rig with me. I didn't want to give him the answer, but I did; dad, racing wasn't the priority of this trip. He was so adamant that he had messed up my racing trip.

Enough said, Happy Birthday Dad, RIP!
