A small plane crashed into the pit area at Pomona this morning. No report of injuries or the damage it created but expect update news very soon.

Obviously the race is on hold, probably NHRA will make an announcement later today. Prospect of the event being held today is slim. Initially no one was allowed to leave, that's until an investigated determines when that will happen. Pomona Police, Fire Trucks, Ambulances, Sheriffs, (CHP) Highway Patrol everywhere, big mess.

Three passengers on the plane and they were transported to the hospital for evaluation.

Many years ago we had a small plane crash at the finish line during a race...all I remember is I was running SuperGas at that time..

The Motorhome that was hit belonged to Ron Capps.
There was no fire, maybe the plane was out of fuel. Amazing no one was killed. If there was then the race would of never been allowed to continue

The owner of the pickup is the big loser. That truck is destroyed.
