It was announced today that the IHRA has acquired Piedmont now. Looks like a nice track.

Not gonna lie. The purchasing of all of these tracks is concerning to me. I dont see the need in acquiring so many tracks.

Neither do I.

Also, I think the IHRA is putting out a great product for spectators and yet the spectators are not (as of yet) showing up to watch it. It is concerning, especially since both Galot and Piedmont are significant players in this area's bracket scene. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

IHRA announced today they will have 12 Nitro events next year, also that they have officially purchased Piedmont and informally said they would like to start the season in West Palm Beach speculating they have bought it and will bring it back to life.

My thinking as well. Wasn't it a previous owner of IHRA who purchased and sold off Memphis and Moroso?

My concern s….what happens to all these tracks if suddenly the new owner decides his passion for the sport has faded? Or if he passes away and is widower isn’t really into racing?

I didn’t realize they had NFP status. What is the significance of that here?

and well run tracks, it's not like he is buying tracks that are failing. At least in most cases, the previous owners are still running them for now.
