I wanted to wait until at least they ran a couple races before I made a post or gave my opinion. I have to admit everything he has done so far is outstanding. the biggest thing that impressed me was the live coverage. (bonus that its free) feeding the racers, crew etc. is impressive too. I have not heard as far as guaranteeing the purses (especially with the sportsman low car counts) if he is that's great! I really do hope ihra succeeds. maybe they can get some major companies involved. I just mainly hope he does not "tease' us (stick around a year or two then vanish) also that they do not try to interfere with other series like pdra nhra etc.

Wish they would do a 2 or 3 hour tv show myself.

The new IHRA will be around as long as the new owner continues to write checks

He is Definatly writing alot of big ones. Saw an interview that he is also bringing back the drag boat series and looking for land out west to build a track with a drag boat lake similar to Firebird.

Wow! While I think that is good news for us do not think I could do it. Does not seem like a very good investment of money with direction racing in general has been going for 30 years.

I hope he proves me wrong and really brings in lots of racers, spectators and sponsors.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I made the trip out Sunday, and I will say it was impressive tons of smiles the guy had people working on everything even in the heat. Let all the spectators from Saturday and anybody that showed up Sunday in for FREE! As far as the purses go a friend of mine went to the quarters in top sportsman in each race and got $800 each day. The people that aren't supporting this guy shame on you because he is doing things for the sport and sportsman racers that nobody else is.

Not even close to the same situation Bert. My understanding is Darryl has Jeff Bezo's kind of money and has an appreciation for the sport. What he has spent so far is obviously significant but if enjoys what he is getting out of it so be it. Not really much different than what we all have invested in our race operations- it doesn't make sense on paper but heh we're having fun. I'm quite impressed with what he has accomplished in such a short time and the event at Milan looked like they had everything in place to make this a great series moving forward. Since the Bill Bader era of IHRA things have obviously gone in the wrong direction with the next three owners so don't pass judgement so quickly on the new group as it's in my opinion they are transforming before your eyes with great leadership. Geez guy, could you be more negative? Maybe give them a chance before being so dismissive. You can love NHRA without being an IHRA hater.

I like to be more positive about IHRA, although I was a little skeptical in the beginning if they were going to pull it off. Seems like they are doing a good job so far. Hopefully it continues!

i was fortunate enough to race ihra during the Bader years and was lucky enough to win a World Championship in 2004 when it was Bader's last year. Bader made you feel like you were the only person there and if you were the only person he would have done everything just for you.

i have been very skeptical with the new owner i will admit. the hiring and firing of certain people as well as the cluster of track purchase announcements was enough to give me pause. that being said, i also have been very impressed with how the first two events have went. also the coverage is great and much better than flo or nhratv. the production is very professional in my opinion.

i have raced nhra since 2012 and the more i do the less i am liking it. i love class racing so it has really been my only option until now. i must admit that i am very excited about the new ihra as another place to race.

i was going to go to the double divisional at vmp next month but now i will go to columbus to see what the ihra buzz is about and definitely have the ihra galot race planned as well.

i hope it is extremely successful and thrives.

Shawn who won Hot Rod at Milan on Sunday is a regular at C-bus and he does it all with basically a "street car" with no throttle stop, all done by the laptop with fuel injection.

I have really enjoyed following his journey into class racing on Classracer and Facebook. His troubles on the road, how hard he works at it and the success he has started having in the wagon. Stock racing isn't as easy as it looks.

It seems he was pretty good in 6.0 before though. Perfect S/ST car.

Good luck to you both Pauley.

Thanks for the kind words Curtis. I am very proud of him. He does his own thing and pays his way. I tried to teach him to listen to others who know more and learn from everyone. It is amazing how many people keep up with him and cheer him on. And yes he does beat them down a lot in 6.0 and is starting to have some success in his stocker. He is something shall we say.
