ATTN RACERS! SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS, PLEASE SHARE!
Due to the cold temps in the morning and late evening hours forecasted for this weekend, particularly on Saturday, we are making the following schedule adjustments to try to confine racing to the warmer parts of the day and give you the most competitive racing possible.
---------------------------------------
Short Version:
- Run Order Change: Footbrake will be out 1st (all weekend)
- FRIDAY $5K (1 TT @ 11AM)
- SATURDAY-SUNDAY $15K
(SAT: 1 TT, Rnd 1 & Re-Entry Only. / SUN: Rnd 2 - Finals)
---------------------------------------

Thursday is unchanged: Test & Tune 3pm-9pm plus 64-Car Shootout

The FRIDAY $5K will be as scheduled other than an 11AM start due to cold morning temps, and a Run Order change: FOOTBRAKE will be out first (all weekend).

SATURDAY-SUNDAY: We have a limited window on Saturday with decent temps. We will combine Sat-Sun into one $15K to Win Main Event. There will be 1 Time Run on Sat at 12 Noon, followed by Rnd 1 and the Re-Entry round ONLY. The Giuseppi's Racer's Appreciation Dinner will be at 6:30PM. SUNDAY, we will finish the $15K (2nd Round through the Finals), and be able to get people home at a decent hour.

To keep things affordable for our racers, we are NOT stacking up the Sat & Sun Single Race Entry or Buyback fees. We WILL stack the Winner, Runner-Up, and Semi money, and bump up the round money, while keeping the Entry and Re-Entry costs more reasonable.
SAT-SUN $15K Main Event
$15,000 WIN
$4,500 R/U
$1,600 SEMI
$125/Rnd Starting Rnd 3 Win
------
15K Entry: $200
Re-Entry: $100

SHARE! Thanks for working with us! See you this weekend!

The sun has really helped along with the rotator drag, so we can get started earlier than anticipated. Footbrake to the lanes!

Mark Walter was getting things setup for MMTV presented by Summit Racing Equipment this morning, with Joanne in the production trailer. Watch LIVE on www.motormaniatv.com, or the MotorManiaTV channel on YouTube.

Virginia Motorsports Park celebrated its grand reopening with a completely brand new all-concrete racing surface from burnout to 1/4 mile along with Loose Rocker's season-opening House of Payne St. Patrick's Classic presented by Calvert Kettle Corn... and it was AWESOME! We completed the race to rave reviews and ran the finals at 29 degrees! Absolutely amazing job to all the staff and the racers! Thanks to all!

SATURDAY SCHEDULE NOTE
The weather has turned out to be a couple degrees warmer than originally predicted the last couple of days. Like Friday, if the track temperature comes up quicker than expected and Allen Carpenter gets the feel he's looking for drom the track tire rotator, we may start earlier than scheduled. We may be able to move up the time trial to around 11am. Again, Footbrakers will be out first, so be there and be ready, and keep an ear to the PA for the latest announcements!

Good morning race fans! In a great turn of events, the forecast has improved even more overnight, clearing up nicely, and our night time temps are going to be 10 degrees warmer than last night's great finals. We should be able to complete MUCH more than anticipated today. The car count usually increases quite a bit for our Saturday 10K races (15K in this case), so I still wouldn't see finishing completely given our later than normal start, but I think it'll be possible to get down to just 8 or 16 tonight to be finished Sunday, opening up the possibility of running another race on Sunday of some sort. We'll discuss that and see how things roll today, but as of now, things are looking great!

As posted late last night, it's likely that we will be able to start our 1 Time Trial today earlier than anticipated, probably closer to 11am, starting with Footbrake.

Tonight is our Racer Appreciation Party, catered by Giuseppe's. We have two weekend entries to be awarded to the Colonial Classic presented by Calvert Kettle Corn coming up here at VMP in August, plus a custom St. Patrick's Classic cornhole set!

We are down to 12 Footbrake and 16 Top to finish Sunday morning in the 15K, and the bonus FAT $5K we have added to Sunday for both Top and Footbrake. It's our regular program, identical to Friday's FAT $5K: $100 entry for $5K/Win with $100 Round Money. (1) Time Trial for NEW entries only (Neither the car nor driver may have been down the track this weekend.)

We have a beautiful sun shiny day on tap for Sunday, so come on out and run for $5,000 at Virginia Motorsports Park! We should get on track about 11AM.

Congratulations to Jason Weaver for picking up the Top ET $15K Main Event win over Friday's winner, Jeff Serra. In Footbrake, Devin Dudley earned his second career Loose Rocker Big Check, stopping Chris Dixon, another former Loose Rocker winner, in the finals.

We're on to the 5K!

Dennis Kessler put together a great series of runs in Footbrake to pick up the Bonus $5K win against Devin Dudley, who hoisted the $15K check earlier in the day. Darin Sowers was the semifinalist.

In Top ET, the Class 1 Transport team from Beaver Springs Dragway picked up their second victory of the day, this time with Jeff Duck using a perfect reaction time to turn on the win light over Daren Lotts, who laid down a perfect run earlier in the day. 15K Winner Jason Weaver was the lone semifinalist.

Allen Carpenter kicked back after a ton of hard work and a successful grand reopening of #VMP with a brand new surface.

Thanks to all for a great weekend.
