AlaskaracerAny weather station works with alcohol. What matters is what notes you keep about performance, tuning changes, etc., and what the weather conditions were at the time of each pass. I ran Altronics, but they no longer support the gear I had, and after comparing it to my buddy's setup, which he runs Computech, I decided to do the same. I also use Crew Chief Pro with the weather station for prediction info and run entry. What's nice about that is you'll have a permanent log of your runs and what the weather was doing when you made each run.

Curly1For my handheld I have the Performaire. I think if I was to buy another one it would be the Computech. I think it may be a little better from what I have seen.

-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.
Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

markemarkIn 200x I bought a used Performaire PA2 that was broken for cheap. Sent it in and was repaired. In January 2025 I purchased the same Performaire PA2. Has a lighted display, GOW and mostly same as much older model. When placed side by side, both read almost exactly the same. I was impressed. Imho, the prediction accuracy (of any) is only as good as the info entered. I rely on my paper log book.

RPROGASThe reason I use a Crew Chief Prediction Program and the AltaLab weather station is that you can tailor it to your specific race car. Every car is different, every car responds differently to weather, wind and tuning conditions, the Crew Chief program accounts for these unique factors/differences. Some factors have a greater influence than others, the Crew Chief program is able to identify those factors in making an accurate prediction.
What impressed me was the scientific thought that went into the program, nothing is left to chance but, as someone mentioned "Junk in produces junk out" faulty input will negate an accurate prediction. Reading degrading, or improving, track conditions is a key factor. One of the factors is qualifying the 60 foot times as either great, poor or the same as previous runs based on several factors, this program gives you that ability.
I'm a big fan of the Crew Chief Program.

Thank you.
Crew Chief Pro also has specific prediction formulas for Alcohol and E-85, which are completely different than Racing Gasoline formulas and factors.
We also stock trailer weather stations priced from $700 on up that work with Crew Chief Pro automatically. We carry both paging and non paging versions. ( there is also a text/email option in Crew Chief Pro )
Crew Chief Pro 7.980. It is not an evolution in Crew Chief Software, it is a Revolution in Crew Chief Software
