I've been to the Gateway divisional several times, and I've NEVER been parked in a spot that would bring me past the timeslip booth on the way to my pit area. In years past, it would require a separate scooter trip to get my slip. The new way is much better in that instance. Tony Leonard

Running NMCA we have both. Some tracks dont use slips. I prefer to have the piece of paper to make notes and refer to later. "I am not ashamed to confess I am ignorant of what I do not know." Marcus Tullius Cicero

So does this app use cellular data like all the other apps ? Or is it some kind of blue tooth technology that would be local to that particular track ? The reason for the question is this. What about tracks that do not get good cell phone reception ? I know Rockingham used to be terrible for not having a good signal and that was with Verizon. Cell data. I watch it at home if I’m not at a track buddies are racing at. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

Here is a question for Don and/or Michele Higgins: Just wondering if the run data that I receive from the track on my cell phone could be directly downloaded into the Crew Chief program. That would save me a lot of time manually transferring the run information from the time slip to the Crew Chief prediction program. Most of the time I'm a "One Man Operation" so my time is valuable getting ready for the next run. Just askin' Bob

ET slip. I also do not like self checkout. Take care. Tom Worthington If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

This is a very important point. While most tracks may have decent reception, when you pack tens of thousands of people into a national event, reception drops to nothing.

Off topic but another part of technology. How many tracks accept debit cards for entry and buy back? For many tracks they are a cash front pocket operation that shall we say dodge paying and collecting taxes. Going cashless would cut into their bottom line. Paperless timeslips if accessible anywhere would easily show car count just how busy a track is.

Ours does accept cards but you are also charged the fee they incur. I think your last sentence is a stretch but then again the IRS could do nothing that would surprise me. ____________________________ 2017 and 2018 Osage Casinos Tulsa Raceway Park No-Box Champion 2018 Div4 Goodguys Hammer award winner

Most tracks and large events I frequent accept CC, and if they charge me 3% I’m fine with that as I use a card that pays back 2% minimum for all my purchases. What I dislike is some AHole like Sen. D I C K Durbin of IL that is pushing for the cash back I get from CC purchases to be added to my gross income.

I don't think the cell reception thing is a big issue. If a track is located in an area without good reception like many near me, they will not go to a paperless ET slip system. Also, some of you old heads are gonna have to embrace the future at some point and stop being so obtuse. Just write you're data/notes in a log book instead of on the slip just like everyone else. Problem solved. ------------------------------------ Not Hot Rod, not Super Rod, not Quick Rod, but the one and only NimRod

Might be a stretch but people always worry about the IRS. How much do you think local gov't get screwed out of in sales tax with cash operations.

I didn’t lock my phone in the truck, but I didn’t want to carry it around with me at the track. I tried to keep my racing as different as I could from work. No data loggers, no laptops, no weather stations, no note taking. I’m probably the oldest 39 year old on the planet. lol. Mikey
