First off this poll isn't posted at any one promoter or race track. I truly feel as the races get more serious, those putting them on have a responsibility to those attending. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd like your input.

Question:
If you are attending a race where the entry fee is $500 or more, what would be most important to you?

Choices:
A Free Racer BBQ
Free Crew Members
3rd Party Track Prep on Site
Timing System Rep on Site

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

I don't think I'll find myself at a $500 entry bracket race, but prep isn't really deal breaker for me cause my **** ain't fast. But if Imma go spend a few days at the track and want to bring a few buddies to party, there asses better be getting in free.

they need a geek at the track, I get to see a bunch of EFI/ignition systems, and it is way too easy to have traction control. Then they need to actively police for it, so everyone believes the race is fair.

Without data, you’re just another guy with an opinion.

I would have few. Tech for cheating is first on list. Better round money. I know lots show for big top money, but all need to survive. If end up even after a weekend of racing you are to the good IMO. If you win a decent amount great.

Yea I do not have dog in fight right now and may never get to the point that running big-money race is less than stupid. But those are things I think would make it better.

True. But there are a few “outlaw” tracks and series around my parts. They don’t say “outlaw” per se but there are no rules, so I’m sure the ones that run these races disconnect everything when they go “big money” racing.. (heavy sarcasm)

No Doubles!! All buy backs go directly into second round. Do a last chance drawing after second round loosers for a chance to get back in the race. I didn't vote

This is a big one for me. I know they say they do splits but I want to know what the purse is before the race and want them to stick to it for most part. I do not do the top heavy purses.

None of the above for me and I don't go near a track that does 8--16 car pay outs. I got caught a week ago at Rockingham as did others. I imagine in my class about 80 cars left with nothing. I think a little chump money will make a racer return but forever NOTHING after winning 4 or 5 rounds. Forget it.

I voted, seeing as it is poll 1, information about our sport is being gathered, it doesn't hurt to support when information is being asked for.

Free Racer BBQ: There's racing going on during these BBQs, that's what we are there for. Put the money elsewhere, in the racer's pockets!

Free Crew Members: Makes no difference to me, I'm used to paying for them when I have them; nice gesture.

3rd Party Track Prep: In this day and age, if you can't get your stuff down a decently prepped safe track. I would say the issue is most likely with you. I know our track has over the top prep & still have people that are not happy. Again...put the money in the racer's pocket.

I'm a 10" tire, medium powered car. It's pretty simple to put the ego aside & pull power out of the car. This is bracket racing, not heads-up racing.

Timing System Rep on Site: I voted for this. You come to LVMS & you always have a timing system guy here, Jeff Foster!

Im uncertain how to vote...yet. If i am paying that kind of money for an entry, both the track AND the timing system better be right. And i dont believe that is asking ANYTHING more than what should be expected. Lets be honest, "big money bracket racing" is just another term for big gambling, and most places that big gambling happens at, people are treated like kings, until they are caught cheating. So, how about promotors start acting like that. Take care of paying customers, and bury the bodies of the cheaters in un known locations......

I did not vote on this because I do not enjoy the big money races now. I do agree with the above statement and what SR4440 said about a good tech guy.
While I do not think cheating is a huge problem I do think if caught it needs to be dealt with severely. "Bury the bodies of cheaters in un known locations" Lol, that works for me.
The problem there is it is pretty hard to catch them.
As for timing system they should be right at every track.
