As a dedicated class racer of varying levels (NHRA SST/SG/STK, CCRA, and SGAS (local association), and outlaw index races) and the occasioanl bracket racer when that other stuff isn't going on, I'm curious to see what the demographic is of my fellow compatriots here on DRR. What's your preference? DRR doesn't allow me to set the poll up for more than one answer, so choose your favorite and post what all you enjoy.

Feel free to post up your ride and what you like to do with it/them.

Question:
What class(es)?

Choices:
.90 and/or outlaw index
STK/SS
TS/TD
Nostalgia Drag
Pro Category (PM/TAD/TAFC)
Pro
Super Pro
Spectator/Retired/Broke

Would 6.0 index be considered outlaw?

Is pro the same as footbrake?

I bracket race myself, but I think Stock is the most enjoyable/interesting to watch and check out in the pits, so I voted for Stock/SS. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Well In the past 15 years I have bracket raced, then spent 5 years racing TD which is really fast bracket racing, this past year I index raced which is bracket racing when everyone has the same dial and this year I am going back to bracket racing..

I guess index racing is kinda bracket racing, but would argue it's more challenging given you don't dial your own car, the track/class does it for you. Its tough to make a car consistent enough to bracket race effectively, but index racing requires the same level of precision while also altering the speed of the car to match the index. Stripe driving gets easier as ideally everyone is around the same speed, but that really isn't the case when it comes to .90 racing.

I bracket raced from late 80's through late 90's. Throughout the 2000's I only got out a few times, maybe averaging once yearly in a 20+ year span, so I'm not counting that. I love any type of racing, but voted STK/SS. I'm currently getting an old SS car back to the track and plan on racing SS with NHRA, CCRA and if IHRA makes it happen, there as well. Was supposed to happen last year, but life got in the way. I lean to liking the STK/SS cars more, not really due to the rulebook, but due to the cars being essentially stock bodied with complete interior. When considering rules, Stockers are pretty darn impressive, given the rules they are stuck with. Many/most look like show cars. SS is allowed interior mods, like tranny tunnel and rear tub section, but they are still pretty interior complete. Many/most dedicated bracket cars seem to be stripped down big time. Still love them though. While I still have 2 stripped down, dedicated bracket cars, I'm planning to go back to full interior and put tags/registration back on them for the occasional fun run around town.

I ran Pro Dial for the past 4 seasons. Pretty much Pro eliminator on a .500 pro tree. Due to various reasons (mostly BS) I will be running sportsman this coming season.

Yessir! That's only one whip in our garage. We have a couple stockers, a digger, and a S/St Camaro in addition to the shoebox....... I might have a problem! Laughing very hard
