If someone breaks in the lanes??
How does your track handle it if someone breaks in the lanes. Are they just pushed to the side and given time to fire and the line moves up? Or does the car they were beside get a break run?

Unless you crossed the end of the lanes, next car moves up.

Depends on track. Some have a "Paired" line, some don't. Once tow cars are "Paired" its a broke buy. If they are not paired, car gets pulled out and he is done.

Once you are in the lanes there’s no pulling out. If you can’t get fired up when your pair comes up then you are done and other guy gets bye run. I do believe if you tell track you are broke in advance they will just skip over you and pair up next racer. There is no going to back of the line unless it’s time trials.

I'd wait as long as possible to give the guy a chance. Same as at the line. I've even given my opponent a jump in the lanes. And I was in my dragster.....
I want to beat the guy, not have fate do it for me.

If already paired they are given time to get started. Usually guys paired behind will just pull around and move up. There is most times a jump box on the golf cart the lane guy uses.

If that car been paired yet the cars behind will usually wait as long as possible before pulling around them if they have room, or that car is pulled to the side. Doesn't happen very often and most of us have been there, so unless there is the thought that someone is doing it on purpose to dodge pairings it's not a big deal.

We do use a midstripe in the lanes to stop at and get paired.

Depends on the track around here.

-One track is once you pull into the lanes and the guy running the lanes walks back and pairs you up. If your opponent breaks, you get a broke bye.

-Home track is first 5 are paired, if someone breaks you get a broke bye. Behind the 5, you go around and get paired with someone else. Once someone goes around you, you forfeit the round.

-Another track I race at, last year a car wouldn't start in the lanes. 4-5 people went around him before he got it fired. Once he got it started, he had to race the next guy in-line (me).

It doesn't matter to me, I'll wait as long as the track allows me too to race someone. I don't want to win by default.
