Why do so many hate different ideas???
Why is it on boards such as this does it seem that there are always some who just can't stand if you do something different than they do? When did that become such a crime? If we all only did the exact same thing drag racing would still be all stick shift cars or Gassers. LOL

Get on a technical engine page sometime and try to discuss roller lifters right now. BAM has become the new starling and if you run Morel you are an idiot. I just don't understand the thought process. We have all seen the Hoosier/MT arguments.

Now to disagree with someone or state which way you believe is best is normal but people will belittle others for doing something different and get down right angry many times if you don't do what they do. Just an observation of net behavior I guess.

1. internet forums are all about opinions
2. just because you have an opinion on a topic doesn't mean you are correct nor does it mean that it's good.
3. everyone recommends what they use, which justifies their opinion
4. the replies to technical questions is typically NOT the TRUTH and the FACTS, again opinions
5. social media is not social and not where you go to ask questions if you want expert advice, it's where you go to get opinion and debate.

Religion, politics and car forums are all full of keyboard ninjas with high opinions of themselves.

Religion, believe in their god or else.

Politics, side with them or you're an idiot. You can't even have a discussion with the other side anymore (left or right)

Car forums, better get with the flavor of the month or else. Don't even think about doing something on your own.

Big tires and shocks don't matter.

Remember that consensus reality?

Pretty funny!!

I had a guy tell me I had too much shock, after asking if he could look under my car!

I was at the payout window, I said oh really?

Mike, while that maybe funny to you, maybe you do. The fact that you were at the payout window says nothing to whether the car is setup correctly and/or whether it could work better. I know numerous bracket racers who driver shyt boxes that turn on many lamps, have won many races, championships and checks.

Ed, I do understand lots of things are opinions. I just don't understand why people get literally angry if you do something different than them.

Now when you go to a forum asking for help and/or suggestions and then put down everything that is offered up, that is silly. We have all seen that guy. That elicits some upset and rightly so.

How do you know people get "literally angry"? Truth is you don't.

To me, what made it funny was the consensus reality of the time.

Big tires and shocks don't matter.

At the payout window was a cherry on top. Same as the 20 years later, shocks all of a sudden matter consensus reality.

To answer your question OP, it's just like the clot shot.

Most can't think for themselves, they need an official source they determine as an authority, to do their thinking for them.

This is the consensus reality.

The guy who claimed I had way too much shock drove a Pro Stocker, I suppose he presumed he had authority to influence my approach.

Wrong.

I meant to say "some" people since it is never all and because they start threatening each other I do.

Chip off the Ol' block mindsets are baked into the cake by the culture creator masterminds, mostly through the boob tube, Hollywood. It's their number one go to mass man - tool, instrument.

If you wanna see how all this works look into silent weapons for quiet wars. Kinda hard to find but not impossible, used to be on YouTube.

YouTube used to be the shyt. Now it's mastermind controlled propaganda, same as the boob tube.

Consensus reality.

I see a couple of things.

#1. Some folks just cannot help themselves.

#2. I keep hearing about how some folks behave entirely differently when posting on forums than they do in person. Frankly, I just don't understand that.

Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Ed's usually quite nice in person.

There are a couple of S/SS guys that are the same way, serial $#!%posters online, but generally good/nice/fun guys in person. -=shrug=-

Agreed. I just don't get it. In person, there might be two or three people who actually witness/hear it. On the net, it is the entire world , AND it's permanent. Why take the internet more lightly than in person? Take care. Tom Worthington

Yeah, he’s quiet as a church mouse when people are in front of him. Guarantee if he ran his little mouth like he runs his keyboard fingers about destroying peoples wives to their faces it wouldn’t go as well for him.

We have all probably had issues with some person out there but I didn't mean this to be a bash whomever thread. My opinions and what I would say is the same on here as if we were standing face to face. I don't walk around acting like a tough guy so why act like it on the net?

I guess I was just ranting a little because of some recent threads I have read that had people threatening one another simply over liking different parts.

Obviously if you threw in politics or religion it would get way worse much faster.

Seems to me that most folks who are highly opinionated, to the point of being caustic, on the net are nothing like that in person....why?...because they could not handle all the beatings they would take pulling that nonsense in person...face to face is a whole different matter...

The reason people are programmed to be alike from the day they're born, is because it is profitable.

Look how many billions Phizer made.

Predictable, they knew beforehand how many billions the con would *net* them.
