I was looking through the Friday car sales and the booze must have been really flowing on the bidding floor. Prices were out in space on some things. I think our economy is doing very well. At least it is with Barrett Jackson.

I think you're right, and that's a very good thing for the people. However the 400# gorilla is still in the room. Namely trillion dollar deficient and multi-trillion debt.

$600k for the John Force Copo Camaro. I know it benefitted charity which is cool, but isn't that just a $125K Copo with a John Force wrap?

Yep, just a wrap. How about that 2021 Lexus that went for 2 million?

Everyone is focused on the $23t dollar debt, but for some reason, no one ever mentions the $128t dollars of unfunded liabilities. Both are horrible, but the big one is swept under the rug. People quit caring when they're doing good. Even the people on welfare are doing good, just not buying at Barrett Jackson.

Rick Hendricks just bought Vin 001 mid engine Corvette for 3 million dollars. It was a charity car.

Saw where Steve McQueen's Bullitt '68 Mustang sold for #3.4 mil. at a Mecum auction. So yes the money is flowing.

Speaking of auctions, a local mail service outlet had auction signs posted and it was internet only bidding. So I guess now we have digital auctions.

You're right on all accounts but I would say the last point costs many of us even if we aren't there bidding. Try to by a muscle car now. Super Angry

It was a 1 of 1 car. Chevrolet is going to build 70 COPOs for 2020, only 69 will be sold to the public. Its a $165k car. The money was flowing in Arizona for sure.....

From what I've seen, people think anything pre 1990 with a title basket case is worth $3500+

I've been following a couple of '66-'67 Chevy II groups....good Lord those cars are high!

The STUPID TeeVee shows are what has ruined the future of car hobbies.

Most of those asking are just asking, not selling.....I sold my 65 GTO conv 2 years ago and asked a fair price and sold it in 2 days. But one of those flipper guys got here to late and offered me $40,000 for the 65 hard top I still have, which is not for sale. Makes me wonder what he thought he could get for it. Now if NFC has it its going to be worth the money, that boy don't build any junk.

The FREE alcohol flows for the front rows of high dollar bidders at Barret-Jackson.
I've seen the look on some of those peoples faces as the person with the clipboard arrives, it's clear as day they're thinking, "what the f__k did I just do"!

I am glad cars are bringing stupid money. If they weren't, aftermarket companies repoping OE parts and pieces wouldn't have a market and rebuilding cars would be even more difficult. Might be different for the GM crowd, but Mopars are hard enough to deal with as is, I couldn't imagine if the bottom fell out again.

For as long as the money pumping the jukebox, the drunks will be dancing like it's 1929.

Pretty sure the 3 mil he paid was only for the right to buy serial #1. He still has to pay for the actual car

Lost... lol

The brain is a complex organ, with billions of cells called neurons working together. Much of what these neurons do and how they work is not fully understood. "More alcohol Scotty" lol
