NHRA officials announced today that they are working with state and local officials as well as host tracks and teams on a revised Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule, which will be announced soon. The season is expected to resume, with fans in attendance, in August and will consist of 18 total events for 2020, including the two that kicked off the season. The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series will continue to be contested at each Mello Yello Series event.

The revised schedule previously announced is in flux because of the fluid nature of the pandemic situation. At this time, it is certain that the events planned for June and July are postponed. Those events are the AMALIE Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals on June 5-7 (Gainesville, FL); Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals Presented by Pennzoil on June 12-14 (Houston, TX); NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals on June 19-21 (Bristol, TN); Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals on June 26-28 (Norwalk, OH); Route 66 NHRA Nationals on July 9-12 (Chicago, IL); Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals Presented By Pennzoil on July 17-19 (Denver, CO); and NHRA Sonoma Nationals on July 24-26 (Sonoma, CA).

Tentative schedule announcements for the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Series, Mickey Thompson Tires NHRA Top Fuel Harley Series, and SAMtech.edu NHRA Factory Stock Showdown series will be released following the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series announcement.

Looks like everybody *****ing about racing in June in Florida doesn't have to worry about it now. Honestly, the odds are against the season starting again at all, at least not in any sense of "normal".

It's just as hot (and wetter) in September as June in Florida...….

I wonder if these events will be Pros only. There has to be a bunch of Lucas oil events on top of these dates. I know our double event at the Tx Motorplex is now on top of Houston national which is the week after the Fall nationals at the plex

Don't be surprised if the Pomona Finals are contested in Las Vegas. Probably the divisional first and then the National. Obtw, there are lots of banquet venues in Las Vegas that would love to host the NHRA banquet.

When everything is coming your way, your probably in the wrong lane.

Fairplex is closed for 2020. Very tentative for the L.A. County fair in September.

Larry, Don't hold your breath on anything happening in Vegas either. We are on the same schedule as you no matter what it seems. The pact between Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado and Nevada to work together. Dominoes are already falling here. First casino closure was announced today at the Palms. Friday MGM Resorts fired 4 of its property presidents and a lot of its top execs.

Come on Ed, you got the cash, just buy your own! We all know that you have bashed these tires for ions now and dug yourself a very deep hole but want to run them! Just take your medicine and get it over with, it's no different than taking a band aid off, just get a grip and rip it off! Big Grin

This just sucks! I’ve been working my butt off in 100 degree heat trying to get ready. I probably won’t put Mickeys on but I am gonna do some bracket racing! I would have a shot of Larceny and toast the Chinese a-z-zholes for screwing everything up. Unfortunately I’m out so it’s gonna have be Jack Daniels.

Hopefully see some of you at a bracket race somewhere.

In D4 we have 2 Lucas oil races scheduled for June, Tulsa and Houston. Both tracks are open so I see no reason for them not to be ran.
Hopefully Heartland park Topeka will be open by July for the double D5 race there
