Glad you’re getting some laps in. Nothing but seat time will help you.

Keep working on getting rid of any stumble because as said it WILL effect your reaction and it will compound the questions of if you missed it or the car caused it.

Keep going deep. You can be exactly as consistent deep as you can shallow there is no difference except that it helps a slow car cut a light. It’s easy for someone who has a fast car to say don’t do it. I wish Michael Beard would chime in about going deep. One of the best to ever do it.

Your 60’ times are saying that the stumble and or staging inconsistency is moving your ET around. Keep having fun with it and keep working on it, we all never stop trying to make them better.

I can't figure out how to post video here.
I tried viewing the data acquisition on my MSD 6014 box and I noticed a rpm loss just after launch. Can't figure out how to post that either.
I'm too damn old to know how to make this electronical voodoo work!

Speaking with a friend who suggested that the rpm drop was due to convertor lock up.
Question; How important is weight distribution across the rear? I now have about 745# per side (me in it) but I added about 100# to the right rear to get that. The car launched and ran straight before I added the weight. So would I be better to lighten the car and not worry about it?

If adding rear weight, it should be added while keeping the left rear heavier than the right. Pitch rotation moves the car rear up on drivers side and down on passenger side. Most cars will be heavier on drivers side because of the occupant.

I did not know you were running T-Brake so yes you should be launching after the accelerator circuit. So if you are running a T-Brake are you using a Two-Step?
Do not remember if you said what your Stall is?
When I run a T-Brake I use a Two-Step and start about 2,000 below stall. My car has 6400 RPM stall I start at 4400 on the Two-Step. I want that Two-Step to get it in bottom of power of power band high enough that you are over most of low RPM stumbles etc and low enough that it allows the motor to get a run at it and come up hard on the converter or slap it.

Can you get a video of what it is doing? Maybe a GoPro on your helmet? I am not sure we are talking about same issue.

With that small tire and a 5.23 rear gear unless that converter is stupid tight that car should launch. Like to know more about the converter.

It rocks to the back right tire because it is lifting the passenger side rear into the wheel well planting the driver side. Nobody that I know of or have ever seen that needs to add weight to the rear of a drag car puts it on the driver side unless just equaling out weight.

I'm sorry but I completely disagree with what he is saying.

THANK YOU so much for that video!!! I will watch that repeatedly and put his info into practice.

I probably need a looser convertor, it is about a 3500 stall (TH350) and I'm currently launching at 3200 on the 2 step.
I got it from a friend to put in my 'glide because I had some issues getting the 'glide 4500 convertor to install properly to the input shaft.

I'm being conservative on rpm to save everything, (stock bottom) I'm going through the traps at about 6500, so I don't know how much higher to stall. I think I can launch a bit higher but with this conv it'll probably hurt me.

If anyone is willing, I think I can email the launch video to you so you can post it.

The MSD 6014 has some excellent included data acquisition (8MB of memory) that uses MSDView4 software. Some of the introduction to Grid 7730 HERE can be applied to MSD 6014 as well that might be of help when locating where MSD stores saved files on laptop.

On any solid axle rear-wheel-drive car with no posi-traction, the right rear wheel will spin under hard acceleration because the rotation of the driveshaft tends to pick up the right rear tire. If you put that same car in reverse and go wide open throttle, the left rear will spin, because the driveshaft is now rotating in the opposite direction.

Mike, that is exactly how I was looking at it. I guess it's a good thing I don't set up race cars for a living.
