Tom396Where is everbody?
Dang. Lots of folks getting out of bracket racing. Many apparently due to the cost(s). Wow. Really glad I stayed right in my comfort zone and can afford to bracket race until my body and/or mind gives out. I don't spend a lot, and don't need
any winnings to support my
hobby . Take care. Tom Worthington

Curly1I think a lot of people are getting out of it because we are getting old and can not handle the heat as well or other health issues.
Our World is changing, in the 1990's I think there was about 5 times more racers every week. Since then young people just are not getting into racing, flying, fishing, hunting, skiing or any other outdoor sports like we used to. I believe it is killing our sports, now personally I think it is because of the internet. You can see anything you want in comfort of your home from the internet and it does not cost anything.
Yes, there are a few young people getting out and doing things but no where near as many as when we were young. Some of those young guns are very good but for most part when you go to a race or private airport, car show what ever it looks like an old folks reunion. And those are getting old and going away.

ferndaleflyerMaybe. Saturday I went to Pageland, SC and the place was packed. Why? As I see it low entry and low purse. No one here was depending on winning or getting their face on a big check. They didn't care. Motor Mania will never be seen there but the track is open and the fun racers are showing up.....I'll bet its the same way out there where Tom races. Same at Farmington.

CURTIS REEDRecuperating from the weekend. LOL
It was 100° on my weather station for the first time trial. At least it was down to 88° for the last win light. The heat really takes a lot more out of me than it used to and I even have my trailer air conditioned. Hit the bed at 1:18 and slept in Sunday. I was dragging all day.
I guess I'm still going pretty good but I'm just 62 and both of us are still in good health. Prayers for those who have loved ones with problems. If it was between my wife and racing I would sell off in a heartbeat also.

Scott,
I forgot that you were selling your race car operation. It will be different not seeing/talking with you at the track. We have been racing a long time together. It was always great to see you & your family at the track. You guys will be missed. Glad you still come on here to watch/post!
