This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.
Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

It said -15° on my truck when I left home this morning. I don't remember ever seeing a temp that low here. Heater in the big part of my shop is down and can't be fixed until some snow can be melted away from it. I told the guys to dress warm. LOL It's 48° in my office right now but I brought in a small electric heater. It's all uphill from here. Supposed to be 24 tomorrow.

Man you aren't kidding. I had to run up to our office, which is a mile away, a little bit ago. It is 3° with the sun out full and I caught myself thinking how it had really warmed up. Then I looked at the thermometer in my truck. LOL
I just don't know how our northern friends live like this.

Some people (like my son) in New England swim in 50 plus degree water like its nothing, and wear shorts all year no matter what the weather is like. Locals complain when it's in the 80's, that it's too hot. SMH
I cannot wait to move south in 5-6 years for the winters. 21 years later and still not used to 100" of average snowfalls and temps in the teens to 20's for 4 straight months

I’m a “perma-short”. Unless I’m working in the office or plant, I’ve got shorts on every day of the year. Hasn’t failed me yet... landed in MSP one time and it was like -8. Got some crazy looks.
In the winter I add a hoodie to my uniform. Shorts and a hoodie. This message has been edited. Last edited by: head gamez,

Same here, ran 2 generators and 3 small space heaters, that and the fireplace kept the living room about 62* until I ran out of firewood My power was off for about 40 hours. Came back on yesterday afternoon and lucky has stayed on so far. I was going to sell one of those generators, glad I didnt

There will be a lot of business opportunities for ambitious people. Should be good for generator sales, insulation, home weatherization and repairs to all of the damage. Mother nature will always show who's boss.
