...messageboards like this one for them too?
A place where you could post/reply to boat things the way bracket things are posted/replied to here?

One person might want to constantly tell the story about that one time (ten years ago) he was thrown off the lake for running over some swimmer: "I never hit that kid, you can clearly see he was thrown into the air solely by my wake!" And maybe he would add some death metal video to each rebuttal (for some unknown reason). Another poster might feel the need to constantly point out how long his boat/yacht is and that owning anything smaller was simply a waste of time. Maybe somebody would post a question about outboard motors, and the first reply he got was that he was stupid for even asking the question. Someone could ask if there was an effective way to repair a crack in his hull, and one reply would be to ask why he doesn't just have the manufacturer fly out to the marina and fix it for him? Would there be entire threads about the hatred for some particular marina operator? Maybe someone would post how any marina that still uses old tires as hull bumpers, instead of space aged materials, are not places they would ever visit.

You know, "fun stuff" like that. Just thinking ahead. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

So Tom what kind of boat are you thinking about getting? Make sure you get approval of manufacturer and style before buying it. You would not want to be different in your choice. You can not call a pleasure cruiser a fishing boat even if you fish off of it.

Why in the he!! would I want a boat? Smile

I love old cars. If drag racing vanishes I'll just find another way to enjoy my old cars.

Not to throw "cold water" on the idea of dropping drag racing for boating but Biden's National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends on limiting all boat speeds, everywhere in the World to 5 knots.

Gotta save all them whales from boat strikes! So it looks like you'll have to find somewhere else to use that 1,000 ci screw charged 18-71, 20,000 hp nitro Hemi. Maybe your golf cart 'cause it ain't goin' in any boat.

Expect NOAA to limit all air planes to 5 knots to stop all those bird strikes. Gotta save them birds!

Idiots!

Yes, and No. Yes there are message boards for all kinds of stuff. No, They all have rules people are required to follow and they ban them if they do not follow those rules. Those rules should be followed every where.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I’ve been looking for a flat bottom 19’ boat direct drive, that way my small blocks can have something to do if I give up Racing. In finding a couple, almost pulled the trigger on one.

HAVE THEY CALLED US YET ? THEY HAVE!!!

Funny thing. We did just the oppisite in 1985, Dad had bought a drag boat with 454 with 2x4's. Nobody would look at because of big engine. Installed maller engine and sold. Took 454 and built a roadster. Second season he rolled roaster At Farmington running Gilmer Hinshaw in time trial.

Matter of fact we had 21' Chris Craft with 350 mild build that we all but parked once we got the funny car. Agian went fro boat to race car.
Next thing up bought a funny car while we were building my 66 Nova with the 454 and off it went.

So be careful guys ,you never know where something will lead.

Agree only a forum not concerned about click counts would limit some of the crap that goes on with some sites. What fun would it be reading thru a whole thread with no bs and name calling. Imagine nothing but an informative post about a question. How boring?

if you want to talk with the clueless like you who think they know yet are not bracket racers nor have bracket cars but have an opinion, go start a forum, anybody can do it. Put in place what ever rules you want and enforce them but this forum ain't yours, no mind your rules and you also ain't paying to keep it going!!
