IHRA and Atlanta Dragway
Big hoohah on the FB today with IHRA supposibly making a offer to the developer that owns the old Atlanta Dragway facility. Rumors of unknown origin and reliability state the county has gave their blessing on the track returning so hold onto your hat this very well may be a IHRA hold my beer moment and time will tell ...

Wouldn't that be great!

I hope they buy the apartments across the street also.

I will gladly run mufflers if required.

We will see.

Good news if true, but it won't look like the old Atlanta Dragway. Tower is gone, all the bleachers are gone, etc. I'm guessing it will no longer look like a national event track, but will have a much smaller (new) tower, much fewer bleachers, etc. And IHRA only runs 1/8 mile as far as I know.

If Daryl Cuttrell were to buy it, I'd bet all that stuff would end up bigger , rather than smaller. Take care. Tom Worthington

If it seems that bracket racing has gotten too expensive for you, maybe you are just doing it wrong.

Obviously a new track would have to be built. Rumor going around is that tower would be at sandtrap end. Other rumors involve several hundred thousand $ is involved between a sale happening or not. Bet if I had half the $ that gets told ihra proprietor has that would not stop me buying .......
