Where is the most economical place to purchase a 3.2a/15 suit?

Biondo has a big sale on Sparco -15 from what I just read in ND.

I just purchased the ProFox -5 suit that Curtis listed and used it this weekend. Very nice quality and fit. I’d purchase again.

Sparco is one of the biggest names in racing safety equipment, I would go ahead and venture to say that they probably have more R&D time in their products then most to make sure they are as safe or safer than the competitors and also lightweight. I'll gladly spend the extra cash on a comfortable suit made by a well known company when that's what I wear on the weekends in the hot summer 3-6 months out of the year and something that will last me years to come.

I'd call Biondo.

I wouldn't buy crap off Ebay unless you know that they are a legit dealer, There's lots of knock offs out there and I'd hate to find out the hard way that my fire jacket wasn't fireproof....

I knew that would bring a response such as this. I'm not putting down their products or disparaging their reputation.

Do you wear/use a Sparco brand suit? If so do you know the TPP rating on them? I'm just passing along some info and making a point about the ratings of this kind of stuff. I'm sure their -15 suits meet the minimum ratings to be SFI compliant.

I'm a little further South so I don't think you can tell me anything I don't already know about wearing them in the summer. As I said we are all free to make our own decisions and that includes you. I will say though that bigger doesn't ALWAYS mean better even though I wasn't trying to compare brands. Have a good weekend.

Sorry, but I disagree with you there. Like 99.99% of the people on here, I can only assume they are both going to give me the same level of protection as they both meet the -15 spec and that the better quality suits are made with materials that (although more expensive) do the same job without causing as much discomfort. I'm advising him not to skimp because the better suits are way more comfortable because (like everything else in life) you get what you pay for. I paid extra for my carbon fiber helmet because its more comfortable, not because I was skimping on safety. I advised the OP to get the better suit because I have worn the cheap ones and think the better ones are well worth it. It sounds like you are just assuming that the more uncomfortable a suit is, the better it must protect you. Now if you have done some actual testing of the various brands or have been in multiple fiery wrecks wearing a variety of suits, then I apologize and I am all ears but you should have stated that in your original post.

You disagree with me that being burned would be more uncomfortable? Just kidding I know what you meant. I'm actually trying to make the point of not assuming. Check the TPP ratings then make the decision. I bought a carbon fiber helmet because it was lighter in a crash therefore putting less stress on me in the event of a crash not because it was more comfortable. I was trying to get across the point of doing research into materials and ratings rather than just assuming based on comfort or price.

Sorry if I sound contradictory to the norm. My wife has worked in a burn center 3 different times and it just makes me really leery of fire. As I said though everyone is free to use as they wish.

Me too. I just got a new -5 stuff from them and was very impressed with the quality and fit. They were great to work with. Shoes were a little tight and they are exchanging them without issue.

I got my stuff in 4 days too. California to South Carolina.

^^^This^^^ The zipper on my new lightweight -15 is already giving me trouble
