HO-LEE-CRAP!!!
GFunny story on shipping. few years backl sold a guy in Cali and Hemi short block.Upos wanted 1100 bucks, Went thru a member here whos wife worked logistics. Shipped 300 bucks and dropped it off at same doc as would have at 1100 bucks. I know business have to make money but damn does it all come from one or two average Joes off the street?

No USPS does not ship complete short blocks.LOL

It might be more cost effective to just buy new belts

Agreed! I use LL and for $90 - $120 new I recycle the old ones in the round file when expired.

Well for $133.80 and 2 weeks I have my Stroud cam lock belts back so I don't think you can buy a new set for that.

Nice! How many re-certifications are their belts eligible for?

Sorry been off for a while, I bought these in 2007 /2008 area and have sent them in every 2 years I think the recert. has gone up from $59.00 to $89.00 over the years.

These are all 5 point 16.1 certified:

JEGS 555-70090 $140
Summit Racing 1029301 $168 (Free shipping)
G-Force #7000 $169

I sell my old belts to a local Circle Track Racer for $100 and buy new ones and no running to the USP/Freight Company, delivered to my front door.

Bottom line expense: $40

Bob

"It can't be that bad!" Sent mine off to them yesterday. UPS got me for $48.83.

Next time, I may go USPS -=cringe=- (If I remember two years from now)

I shipped some flyers USPS Express in March of last year, guaranteed next day delivery or your money back. The asterisk is you get your money back if they don't meet the delivery date AND they "attempt" delivery. The package is still sitting in the distribution center a few miles down the road so they can plausibly never give my money back.

I sent a set back to RCI in I think Florida for my Dart. By the time I paid for the recert and shipping both ways it was about $10 less than I get new ones for from The Chicago Connection....

I don't know how people get charged this much for shipping. I sent a package this morning to Puerto Rico about the size of a set of belts and it didn't cost $15 USPS. Sent another package that was long and heavy, 17lbs to CA by UPS and it was about $30.

I mentioned the shipping cost today when paying for mine to come back home. It is coming back much cheaper.

Apparently it's a destination zip code thing.

When a Texan says their address is a "very rural" location, you can bet it's out there a ways.

I thought maybe the local franchise UPS Store was gouging me.

If you go to UPS or USPS site you can figure shipping. They both have different options on shipping based on times and insurance. USPS will give you the box for flat rate and first class.
