Little brother is running his type 3 VW with VR-6 in competition with bunch of ls turbo cars in Pro Street and getting to close to embarrassing some. He is over a tenth off tops guys, high 4.60'ss to 4.80They told him he had to add 50 lbs and limiting him to smaller turbo than others run. Reason he was told is because his car has chopped top. Meaning his aerodynamic advantage even when they stated they know he just dropped front and actually had no effect. The rule they quoted refers to the door opening and quarter panel mods. Now if he runs smaller tire hew can remove 50 lbs. Guess only reward for 6 years working with combo is he know they are scared of a little 6 cylinder out running their big bad V-8's. Upside is he is getting getting good size fan base and seems some want him to haul. He had a guy send him new 1.58 setup which is pretty pricey so as to help him put more power to ground and keep car on ground and not needing permission for lift off. This message has been edited. Don't VW bodies just bolt on? If the chopped top doesn't do anything, swap to a stock body . Dave F J B

Yes type 3,body's are a dime a dozen. Heck only 60, year old body design. Plus just trash s few 100 hours of work because somebody is scared they will get embarrassed by 6 cylinder. Z of to America home of free. Brought to you by 2nd amendment.
