Big has been on here multiple times since YOU posted your questions. If he wanted, YOU or us to know the specifics; he would have shared more than a "dumb a$$ mistake". Wink

Just went back and re-read this. I have a dumb-azz question. Did you collect all the pieces? And, could they not be put back together to make a repair. May not be real pretty on the inside but should be a lot cheaper to do than 10 grand.
Just a thought.

I know when I wrecked my Daytona I bought a replacement Hairy Glass front end but repaired the door

Not really a guardrail, the posts wre exposed and I hit the corner dead on with the wheel.
The other side of the track does not have exposed posts, would have caused less damage.

Thats awesome you were able to get yours fixed. I thought I had gathered all the pieces up but when I got home and tried to piece it together I was missing a very large piece. Must of gone over the wall and I just didnt see it.
I already have a new nose and hood ordered from Hairy Glass. About 6 weeks out build and to ship. Mounting cross bar for the body is bent to to shyt and needs to get remade.
Only other damage I found was to the steering rack and sharp edge of the fiberglass dug into the tire and cords are showing

Steve, did they offer any scoop options on the hood you ordered that would allow for front air entry that you posted about previously?

Not for the PST, options are flat. low cowl which I have or tall cowl. It all offered in carbon fiber and fiberglass. I opted to stick with the fiberglass since I am just bracket racing and need to save some money.

I had actually just made an air pan inspired by B-Kings picture that sealed to the cowl hood scoop from the firewall to the front of the radiator to pull air from the nose. It was on the truck for the first time the night of the crash, hard to say if it helped or not but figured it shouldn't hurt anything

^^^LIKE^^^

The thing I remember about my set-up, was it helped with the car's consistency! I know it didn't slow it down any. Wink

Sounds like it could be relatively easy to fix.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

I am way up in Eastern Canada, freight for a new clip would be a lot more than the price of it.

Fortunately there was a guy at the track who insisted I gather up all the pieces.
