Rough start on my return to bracket racing this weekend. Made a very costly dumb a$$ mistake and tagged the wall past the finish line

I should of said it in my original post it was NOT caused by excessive braking. Just a dumb a$$ mistake

That sucks Steve. I've crossed over into the other lane driving the finish line that that track. Luckily nothing happened. It left a permanent mental note.

Awe thats nothing.Lil Brother went turtle down bristol last year. We cut body in half left lane same track. Videos every where of that one.
Sorry to hear you bad luck, but it happens we fix and go back for more. Got to wonder w3hat the hell are we thinking? If taking picture beside the left overs it could be worst.

Obviously happened at night. Looks (possibly) cosmetically worse. Nothing money can’t fix. No one hurt and you walked away. I call it a win.

Maybe nothing to you but I just cant go down to the NHRA Pro Stock truck store and buy those body parts. They are custom made per order. By they time they get made, shipped, fitted and painted I am looking at $10K. There is also damage to the left side of the bed where it tagged the wall after the nose did

Not being smart. Could you possibly race it with the front bodywork patched/ modified until the replacement parts are sourced and replaced?

I could but not going to. I might race it without the paint but defiantly will not without the nose and hood. There is something bent or alignment knocked out of whack, we took the nose off to drive it back to the pit and the steering wheel was off about 90* and the steering was hunting bad while driving so I need to figure that out

That really sucks, Steve. And worse when it might have been your own doing.
I've spent a lot on the Olds to get it looking like I want and I'm half scared to go to the track in it, just cause I am afraid I'll eff it up some how.
Best wishes getting it back together.

That does suck for sure. I hope you are able to get it fixed and back on track soon.

Welcome to being part of the have nots.
So what caused it? If it was your fault and it wasn't excessive braking, then what? Whatever you did I love to hear so I can not do that in the future and keep all my car and I's body parts intact

Wait, didn't we just go through this on the junior dragster tragedy? We need answers so this doesn't happen to anyone else right??? LOL
Yeah, I'm just stirring the pot but it is the usual.
