Natural gas price is 2x was it was last year. The reduction in fracking has led to a reduction of production.

Just paid $254.51 for January compared to $261.03 for January 2021. Gas usage was down 14% compared to same time last year and average daily temp was up 2 degrees January 2022 compared to January 2021. Gas heating and cooking.

NE Iowa, heating shop and small house is averaging about 60% more then 2021 and 2020 (now about $240.00 a month). Both heated with Natural Gas, super insulated and the doors have not been opened in almost three months. We just watch the cameras from Florida.

Actually, can't wait to get back and get the S10 ready for a lot of Big Dollar bracket racing in Iowa.

I heard global warming is coming so it won't be anything to worry about soon. I should probably just get rid of my propane tank now.

We live a few miles east of San Diego (Southern California) and have 26 solar panels on my roof so my electrical consumption each month is very, very low. To compensate for the reduction in my electric bill SDG&E "Adjusted" my gas billing by tripling the charge each month. We now only use the pellet stove, in effect we turned the home furnace off, the new gas bill increased to nearly $250 a month, the therm amount is close to zero.

The gas and electric company will get you one way or another. Some folks in our neighborhood turned their gas meter completely off and still received a bill.

Here in WI (We Energies natural gas) they presently charge $0.3515 a therm (not to include a Facilities and Distribution Fees). They also have what is called a PGA (Purchased Gas Adjustment) charge if the market purchase price increases that is “additional” to the standard therm price. This additional PGA charge is generally in the $0.00 to $0.06 a therm on average during the year.

Shortly after the Branden administration started, this PGA charge has been as low as $0.15 a therm additional to as high as $0.71 a therm additional. Last month the PGA charge was $0.1788 a therm additional for 30 days and $0.2766 a therm additional for 4 days.

Nat gas is way cheaper than most other fuel sources. Electric is the worst, propane pretty costly
I’ve been home for 3 months straight and used a 1500 watt electric heater almost 24/7 in November
My electric bill was triple from an average month when I was working and not home.

I’ve since used my gas furnace and cranked the heat up and it’s far cheaper. Just paid my gas bill for 2 furnaces and it was less than the electric bills with the heater added in for a month

Every winter I swear I’m gonna put in a pellet stove and forget about it once it’s warm out.

This spring I’m going to get more serious about getting at least one and probably two for this old house !

Here in SW desert it was a little warmer this year than 2021 and had a $189 for last January! This year used 45% less power and bill was $199 . I’m all electric so it is what it is . I’m just glad I replaced windows with triple plane , the payback happened fast, never had a bill over $200 even when it’s 114 outside but I know it’s coming . Small 1900 square foot with 24X32 heated and cooled garage!

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

My natural gas bill was just under $400 last month, but we keep the house at 72 and I’m sure keeping the 3-car garage at 55 is a good chunk of it.

The “per therm” price is about double last year’s rate.
